I am. But don't tell me trading Mcdonagh for Draisaitl and Kid that is 2 years away isn't blowing it up. Blow the whole thing up than. - tomburton99
Gotcha.
I think McD is the probably the only untouchable player we have to be honest so it's kind of a moot discussion |

Honestly? No.
I'll check to see who the Giants drafted about, oh...8 hours after the draft starts and then I will agree or disagree with the pick based on my extensive football knowledge, which many experts have described as "none". |

No, I don't know what it is, this is my opinion. But, after watching 2 seasons I think I know the type of player he is and producing or no, I don't think we need him as much as the other two. Everyone swoons over his magic mitts, but he NEVER plays tough and doesn't bust his ass to cover his guy. We need more players that have a complete game, which I think JT will have and Kreider is closer to having (i.e. toughness). - Tonybere
Miller right now is the best of the bunch. Kreider has had enough time to figure it out. Apparently its ok he takes the regular season off. Hayes is a center. We need a center. You say Hayes isn't physical yet when he has the puck the opposing team almost never steals it from him. I guess if Hayes just ran around hitting people he would be a favorite.
You say he doesn't cover his guys, yet his rookie year everyone was impressed by his defense.
I'm not going to defend anything he did this year, but the fact people want him gone after 2 years, one of them being a good rookie year, is so (frank)ing mind boggling to me. Lets get rid of every young player who doesn't do well after their 2nd year. |

Seriously If I had my way, I'd trade one of Kreider or Hayes to Boston along with Yandle's Right for for Senshyan, Kocklachev and a like a 4th.
The other of Kreider or Hayes to PHX for Hanzel
Brassard to MTL for Desharnes and prospect or a pick
Nash to whoever wants him.
Lundqvist to Dallas
The Rangers would stink but they'd restock are barren prospect pool, get a couple of more picks and better the 1st round pick in 2017.
Edit: The Bruins don't have a 4th this year so it'd have to be a 5th or a 4th next year. |

I know it's impossible but what are we doing discussing trading Mcdonagh, Hayes, Kreider, Nash etc. Get Buchnevich over here, get some draft picks and hopefully find a few gems.
Look at what the Flyers are doing? They drafted a ton of D-men and have 5 picks in the first 3 round this year. So you gotta they think they'll spend a few of them on some forwards. |

I would not say that I want him gone, but change has to come from somewhere. I am saying I feel that he is the one that gives the best combination of return and being able to live without him.
And when I say toughness, it isn't just about throwing the body with reckless abandon. It's about being difficult to play against, in all aspects. I would swear sometimes I heard Hayes apologize to people out there! Except he's not Canadian.
And believe me, I wish we had more Canadians on the team! |

You know how GMs always say they want to take some time to assess the situation so they don't make any knee jerk decisions? I think your plan kind of qualifies as a knee jerk decision |

In the blow it up scenario I think it really only pays off to move:
1) players who can net more than they offer which is rare and usually at the deadline
2) players who are aging and won't be around long enough to be productive when the team returns to contention
3) players who do not perform up to their cap value
McD, Stepan, Brassard, Zucc, and presumably Miller are all young enough and perform at or above than their contracts. Makes no sense to entertain it unless some GM loses their mind and offers a ransom
Unfortunately the guys who meet those criteria all have NTC/NMC making it tough to move them...funny how it works out that the only guys you would want to move are the same ones who have clauses preventing it |
