This is what conflicts me, I know we may need to rid ourselves of a declining Defensman but I believe he's still a very good shutdown defensman when fully healthy and now he has the chance to be that with this summer off - KreiderBomb
He has extra rest now with us eliminated so early & what about him sliding down into lesser responsibilities as the 2nd or 3rd D pairing, that could help him. |

I guess they all booked cruises now figuring the Isles were gonna be done after round 1 - TPC
NO hockey available anywhere on the ship. They had some NBA playoffs & of course soccer in the "sports bars". |

We were sitting by the pool & I had a Ranger shirt on & a guy came up & said "You are a brave man wearing that." I was like wait a minute, now we're the worst team in hockey because we got eliminated in RD 1 for the first time in 5 years? |

G having more time off is going to be huge for his recovery. Not sure we should buy him out this year. I know we need cap space, but I'm not sure that would be the right move right now. Like you said, he jumps across the river and becomes a thorn for years to come. |

Of course that would happen, we buy him out, he signs a cheap nothing deal w NJ & gets right back in form. |

All good paaatner. Def came at the right time, leaving the day after the Rangers were eliminated, honestly I never gave the series much thought, I was enjoying my time.
I usually am the positive spin guy & I really am trying to take any positives out of this season. Hank's play was atrocious, worst playoff ever for him by far. We all know it starts & ends with Hank, he is an extreme competitor, I think he comes back better than ever next yr, especially w the embarrassing fact of him being yanked in 2 straight games to end the yr. The extra rest of him not playing 12 Game 7's again & playing till Labor Day can only help fuel him too. |

Yeah man, wasn't expecting much this year, so now I'm just enjoying watching the rest of the playoffs.
Hank is the one player I probably won't worry about. Guy is the ultimate athlete and works his ass off every year and hates losing. He will be a vezina finalist next year.
Saw a cruise ship and passengers got quarantined in, I think, Virginia. I was thinking, hope that ain't Brians ship. |

Girardi wouldn't be paired with another right handed guy |

IMHO, he is done...tbh.
- eichiefs9
It's a good thing he's not signed for the next six years at the highest cap hit for a goalie in the league or anything like that. |

Damn. Forgot Girardi was a righty. Nevermind we have a bunch of those. He will wind up in Brooklyn. |

I read this morning that Girardi actually can be exposed to the expansion draft because his NMC turns into a NTC. Only Hank and Staal will have NMCs at the time of the draft. |

yeah, it depends on when the expansion draft is
I still have hard time seeing Girardi taking up 5.5 mil of the cap next season |

A buyout makes too much sense
A real shame though. His legacy will be ruined. |
