As I wrote in Part II of my tear down, this was a move I was advocating for. Now gives up 22-25 starts a year.

Yeah it makes perfect sense. I would say lightening the load for Lundqvist should be a priority for the Rangers next year. He may not be aging at the rate of other goaltenders, but no sense in overworking him anymore.

the Islanders used to have the perfect system

they would split Billy Smith and Rollie Melanson all the regular season games and Smith was all rested for the long playoff runs

It's completely logical if you have a backup that you can trust to give you a chance to win every night, even if it's against lesser competition. It worked decently for the Islanders this year, not that I am comparing the Islanders goaltending tandem to Smith/Melanson or Lundqvist/anybody.

I'll put in my protective helmet for this

What about signing Brian Campbell? Pair him with Mcilrath. I don't think he's as bad as Boyle, +31 has to say something. He's still a decent skater and PP guy. I doubt he's looking for monster money.

*this will not be a summer of wanting this guy from me haha just a thought more then anything.

Buchnevich has no new deal with the KHL, no reason for anyone to lose their minds yet, I still believe he is coming over.

Just had a thought... hear me out before all the hate...
Nash, Kreider, Henrik, Zucc, Miller, Hayes + NYR's first, second, and third round picks for the next 10 years to Toronto for their number 1 pick ..... Will Lucky Lou go for it?

The one team who I believe to be in the mix for Drake Caggiula, who nobody is talking about, is the New York Rangers. https://twitter.com/Fried...status/727128855161524226
