I don't think trading for one will be easy at all. I'd rather have Yandle for just cap space than trade for someone like Fowler - sbroads24
So do u play Yandle with Risto?
I don't like that at all
I do agree that trading for a defenseman this year will be tough
But next year, when teams (esp Nashville & Anaheim) will be faced with trading a good defenseman or losing him...
That's when I think we could make our move
I can wait a year to get a good partner for Risto
Even if it ends up being Fowler,
Who I happen to like more than Yandle

Oh, I know, a (frank)ing quarterback! But no, let's take another goddamn defensive player! - Wetbandit1
The Broncos won the Super Bowl last year because of their defense.
The Bills D has huge holes that are now filled. Yes you need a QB to win in this league but reaching for a QB right now is not the smart play at all. |

Mike Green did
And Yandle is better |

Ragland was a GREAT pick by us!
I thought he was a legit option at 19
McShay had him ranked at 18 overall
For those guys to fall to us is freaking amazing
One thing though...
Rex better get this defense back into the top5 now this season or he should absolutely be fired |

If the defense performed well last year and tyrod didn't get hurt this team would have been a playoff contender. |

Well, this is the cost of bringing in a guy who plays a 3-4 when you had a top 5 D that played 4-3. So, as good as I feel with our picks, quality and value at positions of need ... If we kept Schwartz and his 4-3 ... We could have used these picks on the other side of the ball...WR, QB, OT.
So I agree completely with you, at this cost, Rex better get this D into a top 5 and he better get TT into a top 10 QB that reads and utilizes the whole field, not 1/2.

I'm telling you it's in our destiny we're going to be the worst team in the league next year and we're going to draft Chad Kelly and going to suck for another five years people are going to turn on Jim Kelly because of the bust lol - GERBE!!!75PTS
Wouldn't be the first time. If you talk to some people they hated him even when he was leading them to the Super Bowls. He's a guy where it seems most people either love him or hate him. |

Not saying you aren't entitled to your opinion but what is Fowler better at than Yandle? I know age is a plus but Yandle outperforms him in almost every basic or advanced category |

I respect him as a player.
No respect for him during his playing days as a person.
Respect his humility now, and pray that he continues to enjoy his life for many years.
Same feelings I have for Thurman.
These guys have grown as people, cause they weren't very good at it in their prime playing days. |

It was actually the Hawks that have him that contract,
Then traded him to Florida |

I like Fowler better defensively
And it's not just that he's younger, it's that he's young enough that he's still getting better
I know that Yandle isn't a top pair guy
Fowler still could be
He's right on the edge of either being a #2 or a #3 type defenseman IMO
These next 2 yrs will probably show us what he'll be for the 5 years or so after that
But also...
Fowler doesn't have to be the guy we trade for either
Let's say Ennis has a bounce back year...
Now we've got a nice trade piece for someone like Ekholm, Lindholm, or any of a number of guys we haven't even brought up yet |

Can't argue with any of that
Unless the defense really dominates though...
I see us missing the playoffs again
Stupid tough schedule this year |

Thinking the same thing but not enough ammunition. Only have a 3rd 5th and 6th left to trade. Can't trade the compensatory picks. Bills have killed the draft so far; ACC d player of the year and sec d player of the year |

Can we switch with the Eagles and move to the NFC East? That would help. |
