I think Laughton absolutely must be there. I don't think we've seen his full potential yet. Kid plays hard, has speed and size, definitely some offensive swag. would love to see him on a line with some muckers and playmakers. like a laughton - gagner - raffl line, or even laughton - cousins - voracek to split up the top line.
always wanted see Laughton on G's left wing and see how he did on that line. - sjk540
I think Laughton still has a higher ceiling than Cousins |

My thing is even this year there wasn't a market for Hartnell. Columbus wanted to move him. So I don't think it was a easy as people thought. - J35Bacher
I really got a kick out of the Fiala for Hartnell rumor.
I wonder why CBJ turned that down. |

I understand people wanted more for Hartnell. I really just don't think there was a huge market for him when the Flyers traded him.
I am glad they got out of his deal sooner rather then waiting and hoping something would open and now have to protect a player you wouldn't want. |

Like Umberger... You buy him out. It would just cost more for longer. The buyout is the only thing that makes that trade more palatable. |

He is a finalist for a head coaching job for Mannheim in Germany's DEL. The other finalist is said to be another ex-Flyer player and coach, Keith Acton. |

I seriously don't know who they think is better to replace him with. Randy Carlyle won a Cup with the Ducks...he isn't half the coach Boudreau is. Heck, maybe they'll (re)hire him...
It baffles me how you believe in a coach enough to keep him on during that epically bad start to the year, he then turns the team around into one of the best, and then you fire him because they lost a game 7? |

Bill,
You think Luke Richardson will get a gig? He seemed like he was poised for one and did well with some of the youth in Ottawa. |

Stolarz, even if left unprotected, isn't getting selected unless he posts 30 shutouts in 60 games for the Phantoms next season. There will be a bunch of goalies with NHL pedigree available in the expansion draft.
An expansion team might take a flyer on a young forward or defenseman in the minors but I doubt they dip their toes in the AHL for a goalie. - mayorofangrytown
look at Pittsburgh, Fleury and Murray |

that's actually pretty cool. My German friend was in the third division over there. Never quite made it past that, though. I'm supposed to be in Germany (staying in Heilbronn) in later September into October. If he gets it I might just have to check out a game in Mannheim which is pretty close to Heilbronn. |

I guess they were going to fire him regardless of the outcome? idk. Coaches get the short end of the stick some times. |
