Pre draft lottery question - why all the hate for Girgenson's on this board? Yeah, he had a crappy year but he is still young and he was a 1st round pick. On this board at the end of last year, he was anointed "Lion eater - future captain of the Sabres". Now he is a bum and wouldn't fetch a 3rd rounder. Tough crowd!

Here's my thoughts - assuming he is still with the Sabres, I expect him to bounce back and have a solid year in 16/17. I think at the very least we keep him around (3rd/4th line) until when Gionta moves on. Then he has a permanent home on the 3rd line. However, if we can package him up with other tasty bits in order to beef up our "d", then I would move him.

He went from 30 pts in 61 games to 18 in 71. He was injured again this year, which isn't the best of signs. Also he looked to have a little less bite in his game on the physical side. I'm still a believer the kid could turn it around...but I think there are reasons why some have chosen him to be the new Skunk.

I only saw the extended version. It had its moments, but what made the first one great was that it was just a bunch of friends that got together and made a movie that is one long joke that they never expected to really be seen and it turned into a huge deal. And as so often happens they tried to replicate it with the second movie and make it bigger and it largely didn't work. There were definitely some funny bits; with those people it would be a near impossibility for it to be totally unfunny.

I remember that big to do over the convo he had on ice with Bylsma very early on. Definitely seemed lost most times. I think he was nicked up and avoided contact because of that. He started off pretty physical, but it went totally out the window as the season progressed. Bottom line is he'll only be 22 when next season starts, so I'm willing to be patient with him after going from Teddy "What's a System?" Nolan to Dan "White Boards Everywhere" Bylsma. It can be overwhelming for some guys.

I ran the number by number sim 3 times and got the Sabres to pick 2nd in one of them and Edmonton only won one of them The leafs were top3 only once too.

Real solid RB in 14-15, was out all last year. No doubt he's got upside similar to Karlos.

Do they want him to be? I'm not sure they do. I think they want him to be a complimentary player. He's going to be a 3rd line guy on this team more than likely. Moving up if and when there are injuries.
