For a team with inept scoring taking a fifth pick has to be an improvement - VANTEL
I think it would be a mistake to take a D at 5. If it does happen I won't be pi$$ed but I hope its Julouvi. There in lies the problem because none of us can agree which D to take that early. Also you cant go wrong with either Dubois or Tkachuk so I really don't think JB would do that. You never know Dubois could go 3rd. |

Uncertainty. They coveted the #4 spot for a specific player apparently. - VanHockeyGuy
Edler and the Columbus #2 for Edmonton's 4oa. |

Logan Brown . He just turned 18 last month and has one more year in Jr. his numbers are great . It would be like getting a top 3 pick for next year. He could be the steal of the draft. |

Yup. The top 9 will be those 3 and the 6 forwards so if you can trade 5 for 10 do it and draft Brown. If Brown is gone take one of those 3 dmen.
Not sure maybe it gets you another 2nd but worth it if you can get brown at 10 then 2 dmen in the 2nd round. Clague, stanley or johansen. - mauryballstein
What do you think you will pick up for trading down 4 spots? |

No clue honestly. I was thinking a 2nd rounder. Id assume someone in the 9-11 range will be high on dubois or chuck and probably give that up. Then we can take 2 dmen in the 2nd round and a center if brown is there or hell even take 3 dmen the those picks. Our problem is we lack top end talent at every position except goal so maybe you just take dubois or chuck. |

Still doesn't solve the 1C issue (unless we take Dubois). Wait until next year and hope for better luck?

Take brown at 9-11 and he is your number 1 center. He just will take a few years. There wont be a quick turn around with this team. Its going to be a couple years of top 5 picks. |

They better figure that out quick, the twins can't carry them too much longer at a high level. |

This team is going no where fast. Build through the draft and hope for the best. Signing a UFA or 2 is just going to prolong the process. |

I'm just wondering how he becomes your number 1 center when he's picked between 9-11? |

Apparently the coyotes want to move up in the draft to take Tkachuk.
Their two picks for our first.
We'd still get a stud d man, or even Brown... |

Why not ? Just cus your not picked 1st doesnt mean you cant be a number 1. He could bust out but he could be the best player in the draft who knows. Bo was taken then and if he was put in a position to generate offense instead of being a shut down center all year would look much better.
At the end of the day we need to get bigger and get top end talent at both forward and defense. I just dont think a dman at 5 is worth it but if we can land dubois I walk away happy and have him playing center. |

He will be the number 2 or 3 in two years when Hank is gone. This kid is going to be very good and you don't take the chance of letting him drop.
Bo and Sutter will handle top line duties until some one steps in . I think in his final year he will put up Dubois /Tkachuk like numbers |

Is Dubois good?
Figure oilers take a dman or Tkachuk gets taken in that pick. So should we be happy with Dubois? |
