That's the impression that I got from talking to him. He was in a hurry but took his time to talk to me and my 1.5 year old son then we got a photo and a nice handshake. Well, we got a good guy running this team and there is nowhere to go but up, couple of years from now

3 years ago if I said I wanted the Leafs to do get rid of Dion, Phil, Clarkson because those contracts are way too long and are hindering everything. Also wanting a complete burn down and start over, aka a (frank)ing rebuild, I would have been called a loser more than I normally am. But nice try on trying to make it seem like losing the lottery won't piss you off

In hindsight the problem was never Dion, Phil or Clarkson.

It was the gm.

Take those contracts down to a reasonable level of what those players' body of work was actually worth, and they wouldnt have been such albatross contracts.

Kessel's deal wasnt far off what he was actually worth, but the other 2
