the way you describe that you make it seem like Zajac is worth something...
11th overall + 1st rounder next year + Corey Schneider
for
1st overall + Bernier.
and if we have to take Zajac, you have to take Lupul - BorjeFan4Ever
Now you are just being mean. |

Man, I wonder what it would take to do the opposite: try to get the 2nd as well (or 3rd).
Would JVR + Pitt 1st + TOR 2nd 2017 do it? (I'm assuming "no", but not sure what else would need to be added). Would WPG or CBJ even consider something like that? - --Lamp-- I wouldn't
Pretty much like 2 2nd and and JVR for Laine who is by all accounts a stud |

I'd rather give the minutes to the kids and let Matthews develop into the true number 1 centre, in the next 3 years. What are you going to say to Stamkos when Matthews becomes the real number 1 centre in the near future? Sorry, but you're now number 2 and have to play the wing? Then you have another $10 million dollar pouter on the team. Better to take that money and invest in a better defense going forward. I'm hoping that they find a way to move up into the top 10 for another good player, preferably a defenseman. - PrinceLH
My guess is you tell him the Gretzky-Messier 1-2 punch won 4 Stanley Cups together.
But what the hell do I know?

Unless nylander or rielly was involved - Fakepartofme
Yeah, that would be sideways for us. Hard to see how a deal would work I guess.
Snagging Matthews + Laine would be insane. |

If he's 35+ (I just assume all Devils forwards are) then deal |

Shanahan says no matter where they picked, it wouldn't have made an impact on the upcoming free agency.

Marner who was a 4th overall and another 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder for an aging Bergeron, they'll just sign Stamkos for free. - the_eye Doesn't look like he's aging much play wise...would give you a strong defensive line to help out with a questionable defense. Pure Babcock type of guy. But I do get your point.

As well as the fairly high possibility of a Leafs trade using Pitts pick |

Shanny says Leafs fans needed some good news. No shiit, sir. And this is some gooood news.
Also, says first overall pick will not change their philosophy in signing possible free agents. |

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to totally disagree.
By all means, he looks like he could be a stud, but he hasn't played a single game in the NHL.
Can you and everyone else on here honestly say you would not trade Marner straight up for Bergeron?
If not, that's cool, I just disagree. |
