I see your point but Strome is no Matthews and I believe Matthews is better. I just want them to find a way to crack top 10 again and get Tkachuk or Juolevi.

I don't think that Matthews is greater than Eichel or Mcdavid, hence he is closer to Strome, but Strome wants to play here, and so does Domi and most likely Dvorak. You have the fully evolved Knights racking up points while Babcock tries to preach defence. You have Strome the Big Otter centre, and you have a happy NHL, happy Arizona club, and the Leafs have a stacked line up.

Only downfall to me is that we may never see Conor Brown play for the Leafs and I think he's going to be awesome. They need to give that kid his props. He's excelled at every level with no hype, he'd make a good line mate for Strome but he'll likely be pushed out by higher ranked guys.

We build up the top guy because of hype, but there are many drafts where the top guy is only a top talent and not a superstar. I think that of both Strome and Matthews. They could change that, but as of right now that is my call.

Agreed. Lets just take our number one centre and take the best players available to surround him. The Leafs now have so many talented young wingers, they may be able to flip one and a draft pick, for a top 2 defenseman. Someone like Kapanin, or Lipsic are in tough with what the Leafs now have. I can see Nylander being shifted to the wing now. Add Marner, Brown, JVR, you have your two top lines with Kadri. Fill in the blanks on defense and let Lou find that number one goaltender. Don't forget, that we still have our second 1st rounder from Pittsburgh and our second rounder is number 31. Lots of assets to move, to get what we need to fill in the blanks.
