so what you are saying is that Stamkos will be a Leafs come July 1st @12:01pm. - dmnted
Yup. I still feel like Lucic is a serious option the leafs should consider especially now. Perfect timing for a winger with size grit and scoring prowess. Lucic-Matthews-Marner |

In totally unrelated news, Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri has been brought in to a western New York precinct for questioning. He reportedly fell violently to his knees as police approached him and gently clutched his arm. |

So "Hockeys future's" top ten prospects are:
McDavid
Eichel
Bennett
Reinhart
Larkin
Ehlers
Marner
Nylander
Strome
Draisaitl
Those bolded are the ones who are eligible for the Calder next year. You have to think that Matthews would legitimately be on top of that list. So even if you slide in Laine and Puljujarvi also, the Leafs have three of the top five (six?) prospects who are calder eligible next year...
Add in two on the list each for Edmonton and Buffalo, and Winnipeg adding Laine/Puljujarvi to their cupboard, and we should be in for some epic rivalries in a few years.
This is awesome |

@HabsInATweet: One plus about #Leafs getting Matthews is this may leave #Habs as only CDN team for Stamkos. We need a 1C and he can put us over the top. |

I always thought Stamkos to Montreal was a possibility. The lottery win would help with the sting of such an event. |

. All I keep thinking about is how we have 2 possibly 3 players next year that should compete for the calder trophy. How often does that happen? I know I'm getting ahead of myself. |

Mike Ricahrds 2.0? No thanks.
I'd rather trade for Troy Bouwer for that position. (Kidding) |

If you don't win, you lose. Canucks "went" from 3 to five. Loss.
Looking back at past five to 7s, not many to get a excited about. Solid players, but not guys who are going to be able to speed up a re-build
- nbboy
I know they aren't exactly McDavid/Eichel/Matthews. But Hanifin, Zacha, Provorov went 5-7 last year and they certainly aren't anything to sneeze at.

They do need a couple of big wingers now, oh and a goalie. |

They will sort it out without the expensive and slowing down Lucic. |
