Perhaps it's just me. I have seen him play lots, he's loaded with talent for sure. I don't know how that will translate into the pro game. Then again he's a kid and alot can happen, especially in a great program like North Dakota. JB needs to stick with the safe pick here.

You probably have a better idea then i do since i only have seen him at the u-18. It is really hard to decide these days, Larkin going mid first and being so good this year. Players going the NCAA route and playing against older players.

That's why I personally wouldn't mind seeing the draft age go up to 19. Be much less of a crap shoot.

Also if WD sucks next year, could hire the current UND coach since an eighth of the canucks will have played under him!

Both Jost & Fabbro don't overly impress me, maybe it's a BCJHL mindset. Scouts think otherwise, that's what counts.

Morning you SOB's

I am for keeping the 5th overall and taking Dubois (if EDM takes Juolevi) or taking Juolevi (obviously if EDM takes Dubois). There will be talent left at the 33rd overall pick as well (Sean Day Hopefully?)

Morning boys...another beautiful sunny west coast day out there!

"Hearing Fletcher has called ANA about Bruce Boudreau, but, sounds like he won't schedule any other interviews until after meeting Torchetti."

Wish the Canucks would can little Willie and hire Boudreau!

He's got a huge red flag attached to him. I haven't seen him in a 2nd round mock. 59 in the final rankings. Third round would be better.

I have seen the critics of Sean, but I have read a few positive news articles on how he is first round talent, being heavily weighed down by his old brothers bad behaviour. If he is there in third round, then he is an even bigger steal, but there will be talent available with the 33rd overall selection.

Oh so your saying he is a Benning type of player that had some sort of hardship in his life. I saw him on TV twice this year. To me he, didn't stand out as an elite player but he was a strong skater and ability to move the puck. You look at his numbers as an exempt player and they don't look very good compared to the rest.

Sorry should say someone who had dealt with adversity not hardship.

I think you've posted a few of the articles about him, I like him in the 2nd round too, though 33 is where I wonder if something better might have fallen from the 1st round. He apparently has all the tools and hockey IQ, but just hasnt been able to tie it all together. I would take a chance just based on his physically attributes and hope you can simplify the game for him

Yah I found one, and I think Vantel posted the segment that sportsnet or CBC ran on him. Seems like this years "Anthony Deangelo"

His draft ranking shows the adversity he has gone through over the past few years. I believe he was granted exceptional player status when he was drafted to the OHL. He just has not had a fair shake when it comes to some personal stuff. I am not really sure the 'adversity' aspect that Boeser had gone through had anything to do with Benning drafting him btw... I am not really sure what you mean by that but it's not really something to joke about.

Much different circumstances, but Deangelo was originally supposed to be drafted much much higher than mid/late first round. He has the 1st round talent, but has other "red flags" as you so put that are attached to him, which is why he fell so far (even though its hard to consider 19th overall far).

I wasn't saying it was a joke, i meant it as a JB likes people with Character. Day was an exceptional status player and will be the only one not to be a first overall pick.

If Edm takes Dubois, would you guys consider trading down to 7th and take arizonas 2nd rounder this year? Take Either Brown, Jost, or Sergachev at 7? I think Arizona would do it to ensure taking Tkachuck(CGY will if he fell to 6th, They need forwards and goaltending more than anything)

there is a plethora of talent at 33 overall so I think Benning can get a good player there I would be super happy if Benning could acquire some 2nd and 3rd round picks this summer too, seems to be a semi decent draft class

I honestly think that EDM takes one of Juolevi or Dubois, and I really want the Canucks to take whichever one is available after EDM selects.

Its a done deal, this article used "meat and potatoes" to describe him. JB might just be taking him 5th overall

Brian Burke not happy with the "tankers"

Burke said: "Unfortunately we have had to go to a lottery because of the conduct of certain teams. OK, we're stuck with the lottery. Is this the most equitable way?

"If you're a team that picks first overall, you shouldn't be allowed to pick the first overall for some specified period of three years or five years, whatever . . . You could still pick four or five, still get a good player but you can't get rewarded for continued failure or continued luck."

Canucks will take Dubois. I'd like this guy since he's younger than most everyone else in the draft and from what i've read he has the size skills etc... to match up with the heavy teams in California.

I hope so too, but EDM may take him and trade possible RNH + for defense.
