There is a very good chance Sochi was the last time we ever see the NHL in the Olympics. The IOC needs to cut costs. They stopped paying the $20 million in insurance money to the NHL for suspending it's season.

Is it not a huge get for them tho? Always been under the impression that its the big money maker for the winter games which is pretty important given its popularity vs summer olympics.

My final in the NHL bracket challenge is Caps/Stars I think the rest of my bracket is fried though.

They were talking about skipping South Korea, but going back for China. I think the World Cup is to force the IOC's hand. How many tournaments are we going to have? A player could conceivably, albeit not very likely, play in the World Cup, regular season (Junior/NHL), World Junior, the Olympics, Stanley Cup/Calder Cup playoffs, and the World Championships. That is a metric (frank) ton of games/tourneys. And pretty much a year round proposition. I don't blame Eichel at all for sitting out the World Championships with the World Cup coming up in September leading right into the regular season.

It still bothers me how Malkin and Crosby only have 1 cup. This league screws up a lot of things but its inability to cater towards star players is baffling.

I used to be pretty pro trade 8th overall (even + if needed) for Hampus. But I'm not so sure anymore. I think we'd need to get more of a sure thing (Shattenkirk?) if we're giving up 8th+.

I like Shattenkirk, but he's only signed 1 more year, and is a righty.

It would not surprise me if they went after Yandle. I don't think Yandle is going to get a huge FA deal. I think it will be similar to Green. 3 or 4 years 5.5-6

It's such a stupid premise to begin with. Superman is a god. Batman is just a rich pansy with some gadgets. Superman vs Thor, now we're getting somewhere. god on god, but no one wants to see that movie. By the sounds of it no one really wanted/liked to see Batman vs Superman. I might see it when it comes out on Blu-Ray or HBO or something, but other than that I have no interest in seeing it.
