NN is a young established two-way 20-goal scorer... not sure MIN would go for that, especially with Laughts coming off a concussion, but he'd be a heck of an add for the Flyers.

He was rumored to be in a package for Johansen so I'm not sure the Wild are in love with him. I'd love him on the Flyers. Maybe not at the expense of Laughton, but he's a fantastic possession forward.

Laughton, a 3rd rounder for a guy like Nino neidereitter. Do you do it? N.n. is a bigger skilled LW, a position of weakness for the flyers.

I would, yes. Highly doubt Minnesota would.

I don't know.

I would prefer getting someone closer to Laughtons age. 21-22 range.

Some of the RFA's this year interest me. Not sure all teams will be able to sign them with other contracts to deal with.

Like can Anaheim keep Rackell? I know a center but can play wing.

What Nichushkin's future in Dallas.

Grigorrenko in Colorado.

Could Laughton or some package with him get one of them? Thos would be type of players I probably would look at.

Ahhh I will say I forgot that n.n. was only 23. So I agree, I doubt MN does that deal

New proposal then, say Nashville offers Colin Wilson for Laughton straight up do you do it? Again, Wilson is a big, skilled, speedy left winger, good 2 way game. That fits a big positional need for the flyers.

I think Zucker is a more realistic target. He had a down season.

My bad.

MN is going to have to move some money. I think the first thing they need to do is either try to move or buyout Vanek.

They have some RFA's to sign like Dumba, Granlund and Zucker I believe.

That's a team that's gonna be in the lottery in 24-months... their entire core is 30-something and way too expensive.

They only made the playoffs this year because the bottom half of the Western conference was total garbage.

Same...I'd have guessed it was closer to 8-9 years ago he broke in with the Islanders.

It's kind of like Brayden Schenn... you knew there was a substantial amount of talent there, but you wondered how much of it he'd be able to tap into because a lot of the stuff you mentioned above.

I think we'll see flashes w/ Laughts for 3-4 more years before he reaches that level of consistency and familiarity where he can be an every day contributor.

- Tomahawk

It is a bit like Schenn: IQ questions, struggles at center bc of it, flashes...except Schenn has always had a much higher ceiling then Laughts and is definitely a more skilled player.

If Laughton can be converted to wing successfully, get his confidence underneath him, I still see a guy who can maybe hit 20 goals, 35-40 points in a scoring role with PK and PP duties. There's no reason he shouldn't be a regular on both. He's not the player we all thought he was, but he can still be a useful one if put into the right situation. I liked how in his interview he alluded to Hak/Hexy preferring him at wing long term. That's a start.

He will be tough for them to keep after next year...they have a lot of RFA with only 10 million in space. The most likely solution is a Vanek buyout

Their 2018 first round pick is their most valuable asset

Zucker, Dumba, Granland, Coyle, Niederreider, Haula, Brodin all 25 and under...scandella and spurgeon only 26. They will be fine if they do what is necessary to keep them around while sacrificing the high priced guys

I would have rather kept Porter and waived Vandevelde.
