The flash has me tearing up like a little baby right now
The feels good dammit .. The feels. - GERBE!!!75PTS
That Striker kid the Bills signed had his family and friends over for the draft. He didn't get drafted. After the draft was over he got up and made a little speech. I don't want to take away from it, so I'll just put it up. The audio kind of sucks so you'll have to turn your speakers up.
Even with Stamkos that team doesn't make the playoffs next year. If they do they grab one of the last wildcard spots and are out first round. The year after I'd be worried - Pegullaville
What did we do, 23 point turnaround with more than half our players being new to the team? I'm sorry but that team does make playoffs. Especially with a full season of Eichel and Reinhart chemistry.
I think the Vesey hype is a little over the top. He's an over age college player, Mike Reilly last year/ Justin Schultz the hype doesn't match the production - mattmoulson
Lol neither of thoseplayers come close to the hype Vessey has had. They both never even won a Hobey Baker
I heard the sabres feel they have a better shot at getting stamkos then any other team, including toronto and tampa - homiedclown

The only thing I've heard is "analysts" saying if he's considering Toronto he should consider Buffalo as well since it is close to home and won't have to deal with all the pressure. There's actually been no real rumour that he's coming to buffalo.

He was never Plan A.
Plan A all along was number one LHD. Then a top winger to pair with Eichel and Reinhart. Stamkos doesn't fit any of those categories. - Jammerz04
I don't know how anyone can know that without some massive tampering going on. And you better bet-man, get it? Bettman? It's late and my Ambien just kicked in. It was funny in my head. You better bet he'll be all over any potential tampering. The Leafs have history with tampering and have been fined in the past.

The Toronto "rumor" started only because he's from there. And a spinoff of that was Buffalo, because it's close, and he's stated he likes the anonymity of Tampa. People stop Rob Ray on the sidewalk in Toronto. Imagine being Stamkos. A FA is totally different rumor wise than a trade is. People(organizations) talk about trades, people leak info. If you're one guy and an agent. Maybe you get he's 99.99% not going to re-sign in Tampa through a leak from the org, but you can't say he's 99.99% signing anywhere else with some major rules being broken.

89 (and I believe one or two others) said that the org feels as though they have a very good shot at him. I don't want to speak for him but it seemed as if they seem to know something.

How can they or anyone else have any idea if they can't talk to him?

Nobody said they know for sure. For all we know the team may have had a chance to talk to him when they talked trade last summer. Also, I am sure it isn't that uncommon for there to be backchannel conversation. Nobody said it was a done deal or anything like that.

Fair enough. I've heard people mention those trade talks. Any sense of content?

Not sure I would lol at the comparison, Justin Schultz was a finalist twice, basically every team in the league wanted him, the Oilers used Gretzky and Coffey to recruit the kid, and I'm not sure winning the Hobey Baker makes you a great NHLer. Over the course of the past ten years Drew LeBlanc, Jack Connolly, Andy Miele, Blake Geoffrion, Matt Gilroy, Kevin Porter, and Ryan Duncan have won it.
