Oh they are heading in the right direction for sure. Still a lot of work to do though.

The two teams that have finished last in the last 2 seasons have their fans going back and forth about what may or may not happen...it's how EK keeps this site running.

Not so much a back and forth (cross blog anyway). Haven't seen the Sabres mentioned in a Leafs blog (sans your head poncho Garf) in a long long time.

He is worth between 7.5 and 9 million a year. I would not pay at the top end of the scale to get him. If Lou and Mike can convince him to come to the Leafs for about 8 million a year - it would leave enough in the till to pay for the developing talent and possibly add a number one defenceman and goalie.

Somehow equals Leafs fans think they can get Stamkos for 8 million and draft Nylander.

It works both ways. I said yesterday that I think most people know that Garth doesn't represent the Sabres fan base. As long as people here want to make or laugh at ridiculous generalizations, well then I can be wilfully stupid and fit right in with them.

Nobody willingly takes ownership of a Garf... we all know that

I have so much cereal here lol .. Peanut butter crunch is good but after a while has like this weird aftertaste Lol . My mom used to send me this muffin top cereal that was the bomb lol so many good cereals but they need to invent some new ones

It's the new Toronto rule. If a draft eligible player really wants to be a Leaf, he can opt out of the draft and sign there as a UFA, but it only works for Toronto.

Oh they are heading in the right direction for sure. Still a lot of work to do though.

Absolutely.

And walking through the Calder, drafting Matthews 1st overall, packing the poop load of picks/prospects we have, having "A" prospects like Marner and Nylader and a top 3 (if not the best) farm system in the league, signing Stammer and Vesey as UFA's (not done, but have great chances to do so), a top tier coach, being led by a competent and respected management group with deep pockets should expedite the Leafs' success going forward.

Both Sabres and Leafs have bright future, I just think the Leafs' is a little brighter.
