Any one know of a college player to make a significant impact in the NHL?
Curious to know if players coming out of college actually amount to anything. Thanks. - Marwood

I just drove the wife to work and heard on the radio , Mtl and Edm talking about trading their 4 th in a package deal that includes Subban. Supposedly Mtl want Dubois - VANTEL
I haven't had the radio on this morning, surely Edmonton must be sending Eberle or Hall back and Mtl would be including their pick?

Sounds like a fair trade.
I don't think Subban is too popular in the room. |

They're not quite as rare as Sasquatch, but close.
Adam Oates was a fairly significant player signed as a free agent out of college.
Most are non-impact guys like Danny Dekeyser in Detroit. He's a decent regular and gave them some depth at a time they were thin on D prospects.
Tanev's been ok up until now but apparently needs to be traded. It seems any Canucks D man who doesn't score 10 or more goals a year but is good enough that other teams would part with a draft pick for, is good as gone. Makin' room for rookies and our dear old friend, Dan Hamhuis.

I posted a few players who have had some success as undrafted college FA the other day that play similar styles. Matt Reid is probably the best from the list I supplied but missed Kunitz who is also a good comparison. |
