Doesn't sound like anyone is, I doubt the Sabres will as of now.

I think it will get better. Murray is building this team the right way. We need to put some distance between the plain vanilla- racing for 8 th place sabres, the tank sabres, and what murray is building now. We have an incredible asset in a billionaire owner who loves hockey and the city. We will be a lot more appealing when a top ufa looks at our team and says "i could put that team over the top, and they matched any offer i got".

This is a good post!!!! We really aren't that far off. If we don't get Stamkos, or Vessey, the world won't end either. A winger for Eichel, and an offensive D-man, and we're on our way. I wouldn't mind looking into another goalie either ( I love Lehner's fire, but he can't stop a breakaway/penalty shot to save his life).
I don't understand why everyone gets so butt hurt every time a free agent doesn't sign in Buffalo, it's really weird.

It's not that I'm too concerned with UFA's, it just snowballed from my original point of that we are still not a destination for them. We were pitched 4-5 years ago that nothing will stop our new owner from getting the guys they want, it didn't happen then. We took time off from the market for the rebuild and now were getting back into the UFA market and we're still with no influence. That was my main point.

Other than that, my only worry is what Toronto is building and if it comes down to us or them for Stamkos it needs to be us. The Blues have built a nice team and up until this year Chicago has always been just a little better than them. I don't want our rebuild going down the tubes because Stamkos and Matthews makes the Leafs just a little bit better than us for the next 5-8 seasons.
