The thing about the CBJ deal was the Canucks would get better right away while at the same time getting younger. They would be able to avoid adding UFA'S like Ericsson, Lucic and Yandle. In 3 years when Virtanen and Horvat are ready to physically dominate they will be the leaders. There won't be old guys around holding them back.

I agree Hartnell is still producing and still physical. Savard could help as the RHD, and we give up cap space and their pick.
You don't have to stop there. You could also target the Rangers and speed up the process. You get veteran leadership and target that 26-27year range. |
