ya remember the years the nyr tried to sign every high profile UFA in pre cap era?
They had the most stacked team ever in history and never once made the playoffs with it..... design of disaster. Wasnt built right and even selected the correct ufas despite the star names. No role players ....too many major attitudes in 1 room....Couldnt believe that was Sather that did that. - SMBDragon
Wait until he signs Stamkos this summer. |

While I do think it balances out does it create chemistry? Paper it looks great but... - thundachunk
It's the Rangers, chemistry comes from the coach. |

I remember Mtl jumping ahead of us to draft Tinordi. If Mtl are high on drafting him that might be a red flag - VANTEL
good point.
getting both would be awesome but realistically a top 5 forward and a top 15 D would be perfect if we can get an extra 1st.
speaking of habs...they have #9....premium D had at that spot. WHo will it take to get their pick |

In all fairness Sather was a great hockey mind. I was only giving him the gears because well NY/Edmonton. |

I think RNH would be a good fit. Trade McCann + for him. His value is low, and we'd be able to get our number 1 centre. - Scooby_Doo
Well, holy sheeet.

Ok my only question is this.
Can RNH stand up to our divisions top C's or shutdown C's eg Kesler Carter?
IMO the answer is no & he is a 2C in my way of thinking. - Nighthawk
He looked fine in teh games i saw last year.
Defensively responsible and seemed to have filled out in size...before getting injured |

At 6m per i hope so. RNH has a Hall & who do we have?
Better to stay the course instead of giving Edm cap space.
Anyone we trade for an RNH only creates another hole.
We need more offense from our D & PP & that will increase our odds of contending for the playoffs. Til then quick fixes r not the answer. - Nighthawk
How is trading for a 23 year old future 1C a quick fix?
given Edm's position, it wouldn't cost a fortune and could be win-win for McCann ++
If they would do Tanev and McCann for RNH, i would be all over that and sign Hamhuis and a UFA. |

I expected more from him in nyr....goes to show that probably all the credit he solely received for building 80's oilers was likely more due to a management TEAM of people, not so much him himself. Not always at face value |

I see everyone panicked about not having a replacement for hank and I'm with everyone. But what if Bo is gonna be our #1 and our wingers are gonna carry this team going forward as the offensive beasts.. Toews has never been an insanely offensive player but when paired with Kane and such he doesn't need to be.. Tkachuk bo boeser.. It looks like a #1 line if I've seen one.. Strong net presence on the left side with grit, two way center with offensive fair and a pure goal scorer on the right.. I get it would be nice to have Bo at 2 but I'm just suggesting we might not need to if our wingers turn out the wau we hope |

Trading a top 4 D & cheap young C to take on 6m per & help Edm.. No thx
RNH will never be a good 1C for us in our division.
I could be wrong but i can live with it & i am not willing to have 1 less young D on our team with nothing in the system or close to replacing Tanev.
Let everyone else chase RNH & Lucic for all i care. |

Didn't hurt when Skalbania gifted Slats with Gretzky after signing him with the Indianapolis Racers of the old WHA days. Pocklington looked a genius. |
