As it turns out, Russia's just as nice as Prague so far. Players and media alike are loving it. And the weather is almost as nice as Hawaii.
Tomorrow's a day off for Canada and the U.S., so I think it's sightseeing time for all of us.
And yeah, the American roster looked pretty bad on paper, but they played a real good game tonight, just barely losing to Finland. Much improved from the Canada game on Friday.
It is weird that Jordan Schroeder is playing with Matthews - and now, with Frank Vatrano of Boston as the other winger - but they had a pretty good game today, with Maroon and Foligno providing the snarl on the top line. Dylan Larkin has also looked good but the U.S. depth up front is not as good as Canada's—or Finland's.
As for Michael Matheson - he's the same age as Hutton and they played against each other in college, but he was a first-rounder. Florida kept him mostly in the AHL this year but he played in the playoffs, which I guess is how he attracted the attention of the Team Canada staff. He has been really good on both sides of the puck. - Carol Schram
I think A lot of people still think of Russia as bad food , basic to midland hotel rooms, being treated with scrutiny by security and government. To this day I still have never heard anyone say Krishna you have to go visit Russia or India.
Perception. I did like the pictures you have been posting , but it is probably one of the last places I would think of to spend a vacation.

Really? Through trades and/or UFA signings? Where was this trust developed?
That's a lot to expect from JB. I think that would be an absolute homerun for JB if he was to pull that off. - bloatedmosquito
I think through trade. Someone posted last night Barrie and Col 10 th for Van 5 th and McCann. I am not crazy about losing McCann but Barrie is a good PMD top 4 RHD. Some type of deal like that is plausible |

TBH I'd rather keep the pick.
Barrie at 24 yrs old is at the absolute high end of the age spectrum for me. If JB can get two legitimate top 4 dmen under the age of 24 through trades without losing our first pick I'll be impressed.

Denise Wideman could be had at a very decent price. |

I imagine it will involve the pick . 24 years is young that is at least 8 more years. We can still pick up a decent forward or Sergachev's at 10 |

Don't think it will happen. That first pick is so important. Don’t want to lose it for Barrie. Got to think JB has to be really savvy and find some diamonds in the rough and develop the hell out of them if the canucks are going to get young, top 4 dmen in their lineup anytime soon. |

Not the worst trade but we lack top end talent every where but goal.
What about edler, hansen to buffalo for 8th overall and take back gionta as a cap dump. Buffalo will be pushing hard to make the playoffs next year and they just need a top pair LH Dmen plus hansen gives them a cheap guy who plays on any line.
5th -Tkachuk/Dubois
8th - Brown/Dman |

The Canucks should trade Edler to the Oilers for #4 and re-sign Hammer for a couple years. - LeftCoaster
That saves money & works for me if Edm bites |

His player of the game honours only make me want to trade him even more now....
He keeps this up and I might write JB and start a petition to trade him... strike while the iron is hot. - kaptaan
Yes of course trade our young top D & create a hole is so sensible |

I would try and trade Tanev to Toronto.
Tanev + Bo +CBJ2nd + Van2nd for 1OA
We use that and draft Laine
Then trade 5OA to Edm for RNH and Emd 2nd.
Use the Edm 2nd to draft D.
The lines will be
Laine RNH JV
Sedin Sedin Sutter
Bear McCan Hansen
Dorset Grunland Etem/Gaunce
Edler Tree
Larsen Hutton
Sbisa Schenn
Pedan Beiga - Linden_4_Capt
Why not relocate the team to Quebec instead then.
Geez selling the farm or what?

A snow blower & block heater.
Now why would we eat cap space to help Calgary? |

I'd trade all of ours for Ekblad. - A_SteamingLombardi
I'd even retain 50 percent of salary. Top end talent on d doesn't come around often. Hedman I think is the second best dman in the game if not the best and I see similarities y with Ekblad kids a beast |
