Set your sights higher .............. it's time to go for it. McCabe on the top pair is not going for it. That sort of thinking is what keeps Buffalo on the outside looking in. If McCabe turns into that type of player a couple of years from now great ........... he's nowhere near that now

Corey Perry 11 seasons, 7 of them he's played 78 games or more

Alex Ovechkin 11 seasons, has played most of each 11 years. Most games missed in a year was 10....once


Wayne Simmonds 8 seasons, most games missed in a season was 7. Has played 3 full 82 game seasons.

The narrative that PF's are expected to miss a ton of games is overblown. Kane is fine here for the next 2 years. Not worth a long term investment

So by that logic McDavid is injury prone and not worthy of any long term deal .... is that it? His off-ice issues to me are so irrelevant they are not worth mentioning. However .. if he is/becomes a problem in the locker room then I would have a problem with that for sure. Short of that .............. he's a terrific asset to this team.

McDavid has had 1 year where he missed time with an injury. Kane is a 7 year vet and he's missed significant time in almost every one. It all depends what happens these next two years. If he has 2 similar years of 20 goals, 35-45 points and wants to resign at 5-5.5 mil, sure. I'd just be very wary of giving him a huge deal.

Agreed .... Kane has things to prove before he lands the big, long term deal. He likes money however .......... he should be motivated to kick ass the next two years.
