I wouldn't be so sure. The guy has been with the Sharks his whole career, I assume more went into that decision than just the teams play.

That's his salary. The hit is the $5M whatever, plus there's no way he plays for only $1M. He's going to retire, and the Hawks will be (frank)ed with recapture penalties.
