i don't see anyone NHL ready outside of the top 5 so I guess we just go through the motions and pick best player available at the 8

I think Osgood was a legitimate number one.

I don't think Elliot was St. Louis number one until Allen got hurt during the season.

Wouldn't rule it out...if chiarelli can move Eberle for an nhl d-man and move back to take someone like Chychrun or Sergachev it will be great day for him and the oilers. I don't know if id do it though (for us i mean).

Agreed, but whenever a Lindy team has been successful, it's usually not because of stellar defensive play. It's probably why he won't ever get a cup.
