the team improved 27 points in the standings from last year
scored 40 more goals than last year
improved from 30th to 12th in pp %
went from 30th in pk to 9th
you can make a case with an average home record, they make the playoffs in 2015-16
the coach will NOT BE ON THE HOT SEAT THIS FALL

It does, but at the same time if it were a player that was liked we'd be complaining about Bylsma. Give him another year if he's not traded |

yeah, has nothing to do with his 6.4 shooting %
moulson is a piece of crap yet the lion eater with fewer points is one you should never put under the microscope
best thing the lion eater can do is work on his skating, sharpen up his passes and start hitting someone
he looked like an ahl player last year, in fact bailey and fasching looked better, let alone the ugly legwand |

I really think he missed a whole season. Girgs was passed in the line up by a bunch. - cabin
Maybe he made a pass at the coach's wife or dented his car in the parking lot or something? Gotta be a reason.
Still not convinced Larsson is the truth....scored a couple timely goals and can hit but he also was invisible for at least half of last year. Coach tried him on the wing for at least a couple month's and he went nowhere....is that the player not buying into the system or the coach's fault? Did he not try to do what the coach asked and is therefore a cancer?
Just saying let's apply the same metrics to him, Pys boy, Girgs, and anyone else who played sub par. Come to think of it, Gio, Gorges, Ugwand, Kane, all took time to hit their strides last year....even Risto, but in reverse. |

when a coach goes to a career ahl player for 3rd line duty on the dot instead of a first rd draft pick that scored 15 goals the year before, it's telling
some can't swallow that pill though |

Looks like a terrible coach to me. If Fleury wasn't a mite goaltender come playoff time, they would have won more cups. Not to mention the year he took the Pens to the 2nd round when Malkin and Crosby were both out. But yes yes... worst coach in the NHL. |

What do you mean if he was a player that was liked?
Girgensons was very well liked on this board. Then he had that disaster of a season.
He came out of the gate very poorly and it continued all year long.
I am not sure what it was, the All-Star game, not having Nolan or what but he wasn't anywhere near the same player he was the year before.
I am not saying he should be crucified or any of that but to glorify him as the "lioneater" when he was more like a salad eater during the year.
He's a pro athlete if he is as good as some think he is, he will bounce back. IMO he is a 3rd liner nothing more nothing less.
Edit:
I should have gone with this instead of salad:

Yeah. Everyone on the team has seemed to have a up/down season. I'm willing to see if he made some changes in his style over the summer. Last season was a punt with all the rooks we had on the team. sophomore/freshman slumps and all. THe season coming up should give us a real indication by Dec. 1st of who should stay and who should go. |

I totally agree. I also can think of about 10 games where they gave up a go-ahead goal in the last 5 minutes. Even getting those to overtime at least they get a point and then see what happens. |

Someone else said it. They were right.
We're two pieces away from a contender. top 6 sniper. #2LHD. We need good seasons from the pieces who will remain after we get those requirements (including the goalie who showed he has the chops).
The coach is doing his job just fine.
The GM has put the puzzle together and made all thise improvement in the first year that the switch was flipped.

I said it today, but it has been said in the past
1 top 6 forward (the right one) and a top 2 D and this team goes from playoff contender to Cup Contender |
