ohhhhh....Now do one of the flyers coming back 3-0 and 3-0 against the bruins - Tumbleweed
Did we hit the low point of recording ourselves watching TV back in 2010? Otherwise let it roll. I'll reply with 2011 when they swept those (frank)ing knuckle draggers in the 2nd round. |

I understand. I can't watch a video of Game 6 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals. But if a Chicago writer posted a blog commemorating that win on its anniversary, I wouldn't get upset about it. - jmatchett383
I can't speak for other Leafs fans, but I'm not upset. I'm sad because of what could've of been. The Leafs were in the playoffs in while and they on the verge to move on to the next round.
As it turned out, it was a round of golf that they played. |

haha, it sucked when it happenned but I had to remind myself - The Bruins used to dominate us in those days. We should have been swept in that series so ever getting a game 7 was amazing. Not too mention we were never gonna win the cup anyways.
Nowadays it's safe to say most Leafs fans don't care. The present and the future are bright.
That's some funny stories about the old leaf alumni and staff though Ty. This was a great read. |

Like I need a video of me playing with myself.

Well, I mean three weeks ago or so I wrote almost 4,000 words outlining every Bruins mistake over the last four years, so I just don't understand how it's bad journalism because it's upsetting as a fan of a team. We were making 2 in 17 seconds like the night after the Bruins blew Game 6 to Chicago. Nobody should be sensitive about something like this. It's silly. And it was not written to inflame, but rather touch on a side of this epic series that I've never told before. - tyanderson

Yeah that was super weird. The girl n the couch looks very uncomfortable. Their celebrations were weird too. It's like they agreed in advance to cheer for exactly 10 seconds and then return to silence. |

I actually think the one chick on the left closest to the TV is pretty cute. |

I have no problem with this blog, actually found it to be a good read. I am hoping that this loss adds to the lore of the Leafs bright future coming up. Just think about this for a second. I have no facts to back it up but I would imagine since 1967 we have the worst winning % in any pro sport. The fewest playoff appearances, the longest spells of ineptitude and we had an owner for a long period who made Donald Sterling look like Nelson Mandela. In spite of all of this here we are on another bloggers site in full force, being Leaf fans. The best, most loyal, most deserving fan base in all of sports. How can we have sucked for decades at a time and still be worth over a billion dollars because we are LEAFS NATION. |

Haha c'mon if you're going to write a blog like this directed at the leafs and their fanbase, at least have the stones to stand by it. Saying that "nobody should be sensitive about this" is pretty patronizing and disingenuous. It's not bad journalism, I have no problem with you writing a post like this, I'd just respect you more as a writer if you didn't back pedal and pretend to take the high road like it's no big deal. |

But looking back on a game from three years ago is not a big deal haha.
I'm genuinely surprised by the frustration this has sparked. It's old news. The Bruins are a middling team, the Leafs are getting Auston Matthews (Auston Matthews!). A look back on this game should not ruffle any feathers in 2016. It's just an offseason read. Tomorrow is a look back on May 14th, a noted terrible day in Bruins history.
I hope you are all equally bothered by it. |

AS a Leaf fan I hate this blog as it brings up pure torture, but Ty is easily one of the best writers on Ecks site and I got respect for him despite my hatred of the Bruins. So I m cool with it. Ty is far from a major homer. It happened we must live with it. Better times are coming Leafers |

In hindsight, the collapse was a blessing. That team was flawed. It forced the Leafs into a full rebuild. A few years of pain has yielded a half dozen premium young players. The Bruins are an aging team with their best days long behind them. The Leafs on the other hand have a bright future. Thanks Bruins! |

Yeah that result was something that had never happened in NHL history, and that low point has lead the Leafs to a management team that's doing things in a way the Leafs have never done before. So maybe that was the darkness before the dawn for the Leafs. If that was the cruelest of many cruel twists of fate for Leafs fans, maybe now they're catching some equally big breaks. Here's hoping anyway, and here's hoping for a shot at the Bruins in the playoffs down the road sometime, these teams have some more classic series in them I bet.

You can't begrudge Ty writing about one of the craziest games ever played, it was one of the most incredible things ever in sports. Besides, with things like Babcock and winning the draft lottery, we Leaf fans can lighten up a bit.
It still hurts like a framing hammer to the balls, but I'm trying. |
