Eichel is a much more likeable individual than Hasek. Eichel will end up much more than a fringe all-star. One does not score 56 points as an 18/19 yr old in this low scoring era and not progress into a top 10/ prob top 5 player
From Last blog i'm very interested to see the responses towards this question
Let's have some fun
Who would you rather have on your team jack or hasek ( young ) right now
Everything on the team is the same but you get to pick one so who's going to lead us to a Stanley Cup and Et and explain why - GERBE!!!75PTS
jack. i loved watching dom steal games with a team full of third liners in front of him, but you need a franchise center these days. actually, come to think of it, the closest we came with dom was a 6 game loss to a team with modano at center, a player that ive seen eichel compared to. corey crawford has two cups in chicago, you need a solid goalie not a great one.

lion eater was suppose to be the next Jere Lehtinen

I still have hopes for the guy, as you prolly can tell, but my comment was meant to be a joke because lioneater has been to the AllStar game, which itself is pretty sad for our organization.
If they were to unload Moulson and could get him on a 3 year deal for 5 mil per I'd say sure.
Carolina as a whole didn't have much help for him and I do feel he will be a 20/30 guy in the right situation. If they are thinking playoffs he could be a nice addition come that time. I know he had a crap playoff run with the Rags but sometimes players on the last year of their deals have off years.
I guess I'd have more faith that he could get back to form than I do with Moulson.

God, just typing their names makes me queazy. - LandlordTom
Typing holzinger makes me quesier than typing hull. Modano and nieuwendyk both are hall of famers with over 550 goals, and hull had 700 (?). We had miro satan. Thats really bringing a knife to a gunfight.

his 39 points, which was his worst season since his rookie year, would have placed him fifth on the Sabres in scoring last season...I don't think a 50 point season is out of the question for him...it might be a slight reach, but it isn't far-fetched

I really think it was just a very down year form him and the looming expiring contract and potential deadline trade got to him. It happens.
His three previous seasons he had 53 (in 48 games), 61, and 54 points. In the right situation and if he were willing to play the wing, I see no reason he's not in that 50-60 point range over the next three years. Which is why I'd go no more than a 3 year deal. He'll be 32 at the beginning of the season.

Imagine having a healthy LaFontaine on that team for that series.
