I don't really want Yandle as a top pairing, I'd rather have a shut down D and am willing to take on an older player there for a couple of years. I'm good with Barrie, but then we would likely need to get rid of one of our RHD...Pysyk?...and more I'm sure. He can play PP minutes so he fills a need. I do not want to lose McCabe...he is going to be a gem in a few years...maybe be that older D's replacement on the top pairing. And your right about Guhle and Nelson...lots of promise there, let Franson go, ship him out for anything. I don't mind Gorges and allowing him to slip down the lineup as he ages.

I do really want the Sabres to trade with Edmonton to get the 4th and land Tkachuck.
Add in Stammer and or Vessey...hmmm not looking too bad

Avs did it once with the EJ trade (Shattenkirk, Strewart, 2nd) for (EJ, 1st, McClement). Use the smaller puck mover to get the Big Dman they wanted.

Agreed. TM would have to know Barrie's limits and upside, if any, and be real confident he still has some room to grow before pulling that, and I still think that IF Bogo is the Dman we had in the last 3 months of last year then we would miss him pretty bad. He was playing pretty well and with some confidence and I was pleasantly surpised...of course this is after a few months of gross inconsistency.

Running out of patience as a motivating factor in making moves and trades is a recipe for disaster.

Don't know if McCabe, Guhle, Nelson, Martin or anyone else will soon become the puck-mover we crave but going all in on Barrie to the point of overpaying would set us back imo.

If McCabe is moved I will poop a tripod, sideways.

That's all fine and dandy but what happens if you don't get yandle and soupy ? Then you have one big massive hole that you did not fix and you created another one
