1. Leafs finished 30th with 69 points. They were better this year than last year. How to prove that statement? Um, last year they finished 27th with only 68 points. In fact, the Leafs are the best 30th place team since 2007 when two teams both had 71 pts. That's 10 (frank)ing years.

2. The Leafs were competitive in almost every game this season and the random stop gap UFAs all performed above their expected ability.

3. When JVR(also known as the Leafs only 1st line forward) went out for the season this team was at .500(after a disgraceful October).

4. As mentioned, the Leafs 30th place team has been the best 30th place team in a decade(2007 when TB and NYI both had 71 pts..stamkos hedman) EDIT: Tavares and Hedman(the puck)

I usually walk into a store every two or three years and say "I can't dress myself" and then they dress me. I reject half of the stuff and accept half of the stuff, I mean I know that when I say my opening statement they're gonna offer me more than I need. Like (frank) your shoes, (frank) your hipster neckties and (frank) your whatever other random poope you are trying to sell me.

No but Ellis plays better defense and allows less shots against, which I think makes up for the difference in points. Plus Josi is your go to #1 PP QB, so the difference wouldn't be so pronounced because I am sure if given that role, Ellis would rock quite a few more points.

Josi has better box protection but allows more CA/60, while playing tougher competition and handling more minutes. Better box protection, better producer on the PP and at ES. Maybe a big fan of 2nd pairing comp guys that can transition the puck better...?

It doesn't matter how you spin it, the Leafs were the worst team in the NHL last year and yet everyone is still praising them, which is super weird when this is the year everyone started getting out of control concerning not wanting to reward last place teams with high picks.

Reilly and Kadri didn't sign amazing discounted contacts. Kadri still hasn't shown he's a legitimate everyday top line guy. Is 45-50 points a year and no defensive ability really worth 4.5 million? Reilly is a good player, but he's not better than most of the other young defencemen who've been signing 4-5 million dollar deals over the last few years. Is he better than Josi? Is he better than Brodie?

Reilly signed for market value and Kadri signed for more than he's worth based on the numbers he's put up so far.
