He went to Europe to try and find a contract, I'm assuming he didn't.
He was allowed to because it's before he's drafted.

They have to expose everybody else other than players with less tha 2 years under contract, why would any team pick a useless vet over the younger guys they will have to leave exposed?

I'm saying league regulations will force teams to have a certain amount of players with NHL experience left exposed, regardless of whether or not they will be selected. This is why the Leafs won't be picking up too many NHL assets this off-season imo. Unless of course they have deals in place with Las Vegas and/or Quebec to not pick certain players.
