I understand this thread skews to a different opinion, but in my view the 8th pick overall - or any pick outside the first 2 or 3 - would never be worth an established young high-qulaity NHLer, this year, or any year.

Presuming the ++ is just an afterthought, and something less than the 8, I do this deal in a heartbeat.

He has do nothing but Florida isn't dumb they're not just going to give him away if they will get the highest price possible which would be the eighth overall they just waited for him for years to finish up college and he finally did they're not going to rush off and trade him .. This would be like us trading riso his first year in the ahl

There have been so many successful stories of late round picks All-Stars and franchise players one of those players is the captain in the playoffs .. Draft status means nothing it's what you do afterwards
