Might be the biggest overrated band of all time. - dadeadhead
"Toys in the Attic" is one of the greatest rock albums of all-time. 1975 .... and it changed the way rock was played. |

Wait till you see your bill increase. Never had an issue with them other than the high price for having duplicate channels . - cabin
It shouldn't. I have FiOS now, so it doesn't really matter. I was reading the article where it was explaining the details. And on the outside it seems like it could be a good thing. So like if they offer a new program/new higher internet speeds they have to offer it everywhere and can't jack the price up among many other things. Now whether the regulators actually give a (frank) about them when they inevitably skirt the regulations is another story entirely. |

I'd be fine with one 8 yr term.
What is the ratio for presidents not getting re-elected (assassinated ones don't count)? - dadeadhead
I think one 6 year term would be better. 8 is way too long, and running for re-election just (frank)s everything up. I think the way they do it in Europe where they can have confidence votes would ultimately be the way to go, so if a someone was really (frank)ing up they could oust them fairly quickly.
The ratio is pretty low. The only times an incumbent ran and hasn't been elected since Truman decided not to run for a third term, was Ford, but he wasn't elected in the first place, Carter, and H.W. Bush. So, really only twice in the last 64 years.

IMO Sammy screwed the Bills, he had every chance to have that surgery right after the season. Why wait until now to do it. - SABRES 89

If we finish above 8-8 I guarantee Rex at least stays unfortunately. I wanted us to hire Hue Jackson from the start... Would've kept Schwartz as DC. Only down side of that is we probably would've been stuck with that prima donna Mario. - bluengold12
Who gives a poop if he dominates like he did the year before Rex? |

If we could get
a Couturie, Nylander, Risto or Wernski I'd be fine with picking 8th otherwise I say trade it. Not a great group indeed. |

CORRECT - it's a 6-8 week recovery and he had the surgery a month ago, so what's the big deal?? - turbo044
They're talking about Sammy missing the entire preseason. That's not 6-8 weeks. That's like 16. |

Schefter the king of pessimism is the one saying that. All other reports are saying early training camp. I think the likely scenario is him being able to do light jogging by the start of camp but they take full precaution with him and he doesn't play any pre season games or do any contact drills. He'll be more than 100% if they do that for the start of the season. |

Not really Bills knew of injury and he reagarivated it. He's also been wrong a lot before with Bills injuries. He may have trade and signing news but his injury news is generally hit or miss |

yuck, jon cooper has lost a lot of respect in my book. He's getting a lesson in coaching 101 about how to create 2nd and 3rd chances rather than trying to set up pretty goals. I was hoping for a fun series, but it looks like the pens simply want it way more than the bolts. Outworking them in every aspect of the game and creating their own chances rather than passing it all over and simply hoping for a play to set itself up.
I really like what Mike Sullivan has done there, much respect for keeping things simple and just demanding hard working hockey from his guys and b*tch slapping his opponents on their home ice |

not to go too far off topic, but i feel bad for kids in their 20s. the trend seems to be to force baby boomers out and hire kids for a pittance. if you go to college and graduate with 50k in debt (you might be one of the lucky ones from what i hear), you get to start making a dent in that with your entry level salary and most likely bloated insurance costs. wanna buy a house?- to buy a $140,000 house you need $28,000 plus another $7,000 or so for closing costs- just so you dont have to pay mortgage insurance ($130 a month for the life of the mortgage). so basically, you should have $50,000 in the bank and you actually have $50,000 in debt. and thats if you dont get in trouble with credit cards in college. im in my 40s now, but i remember going to the bursars to sign my prom notes with a sense of complete detachment- because i dont even wanna think about having to pay this back, i just have to get through and graduate. gotta be a better way. we need kids to gain skills (college or trade), and we need to not kill them for doing the right thing. - rover16
Where did you get your math from in parts of the above?
You only pay PMI until your interest versus principal amoint remaining on your loan hits a certain ratio, and it certainly isn't anywhere near the entire life of your loan. Not even close.
Further, the amount needed at closing isn't unreasonable lime you're making it out to be.
I purchased a house for $207K last fall.
I ended up needing less than $14K for all the closing costs and down payment combined, plus my mortgage insurance isn't $130 a month. It is less. |
