I would take Drouin in a Texas second if it was 8++, as long as the ++ wasn't part of our core moving forward. Can you imagine putting him alongside Jack?

The Lehner debate is very interesting...although it has circled back to the same points that were raised before the start of the season...i.e. 21st overall is too much to pay...and he's injury prone.

what makes it interesting, at least to me is that during his 21 game stint in which he played very, very well for the majority of them (had like what 3 stinkers?) No One raised an issue with his play...it seemed to keep us all quiet...meaning that overpaid argument was falling on deaf ears.

So, I now think the only issue is if he can play on a regular basis and stay on the ice as scheduled. If he does, I think having a guy who can play 55 - 60 games or more and be on the ice for 60 minutes versus a F who plays what 20 is more valuable.

Lastly, IF it is true that Edmonton also offered the 16th (without the Legwand dump), well that made it at least 2 GM's of the 3 teams who were scrambling offering a 1st for him ... while us basement GMs are throwing hissy fits.

Goalies go hot and cold all the time.
He had some really solid games.

So did Nuevirth, Johnson, Enroth, Miller, Lindback. Basically everyone besides Lalime over the past 15 years. It's easy to find good goaltending

Only complaint on Lehner right now is that he's injury prone. If he maintains the stats he had in his 21 game stint over the course of 50-55 games he's a top 10, Maybe even top 5, goalie in the league. This fanbase is really quick to ridicule jeez.

That's how much The third overall pick should cost for him plus in my opinion he should of been in consideration for the first overall pick vs McKinnon and a lots of people thought he was being back packed then he went on that 29 point streak without him but of course the size played a factor
