Either way, Drouin was fine last year as a 19-20 year old. He only had 32 points but the numbers show if he got more ice time, he would have been around 40-45 in the 70 games he played.

Problem is it seemed TB never wanted him to succeed. And the only reason he got another shot was because a freak injury to Stanmer.

That was more my point... but its also the fact that a lot of grief is given when we give up stuff for an unproven commodity. Yes Drouin plays a spot we need and yea so far he seems to do it pretty well... But I'm not sold enough to give away everything for him. He might come here and play well with the guys on the top line and he might not and we see how he acts when he's not getting top minutes.

And Tampa didn't want him to succeed? Why would they not want a 3rd overall pick to succeed? He was injured and they wanted to ease him back he whined so they said fine sit in the minors where you'll get top minutes but only get picked on by NHL players instead of the big guys. They were being cautious, then he freaked and played the woe is me card. No part is bigger than the whole, you start playing into that and its nothing but trouble.
