The only line winning board battles is the 4th line. Also the only line cycling the puck

Elliott has been terrible the last two games. Everyone one of the goals has been weak.

Terrible officiating sure is helping.

Domination, no puck luck.

Got hung out to dry there. What was Schwartz doing? Take the man, especially when you are that close to the net.

I agree with Droogie in that the 4th line has been the best line by far which is not a good sign.

just watched marleau hook a player and check him though that player never touched the puck the entire sequence.

He has only looked good in maybe two or three games since the first round. He has gotten lucky a lot of pipes.

I think we might be done I don't see how you can go 2 games without scoring and expect to win. Start Allen next game and maybe wake them up.

Domination, no puck luck. Top 3 lines cannot win a board battle, no one is going to the front of the net, 1 player forechecking with no support. Even if they win the battle they send it behind the sharks net to a shark, not a Blues player. We can't even seem to pass to each other, its to the skates or way out of reach

Really because was that three goals on something like twelve shots?

Seems the team in front not so bad this game. He played well the first game.

Cant fault him on any of the goals, even if he only let one in we would still be losing

Not entirely true.

No support is correct. No net front. No quick shots in the danger areas.

I would like to see stats of the number of hockey games when a team has possessed the puck as much as the Blues have this game and only manage to get one call.

All three goals were weak.

But yes got to score. Are the goals all his fault? No. The last one was but the other two were savable clean looks. I would say the last two were really weak in my book. I know when I would shoot low and score clean was because the goalie had a big opening.

Chaser is right though that San Jose has had great back side pressure.

Maybe they need to have a cherry picker as well.

If Thorton wants to sit at the other blue line or center line when it is in their zone do not back up. Let him have a break away. Hell someone ought to be able to catch him he is slower than dirt. He could have had a break away earlier and had to curl out. Which was effective because no one takes his body. He is huge, sure strong on the puck but put a body on him and get some support and it is all good.

I don't care about stats at this point. You can crunch numbers all you want but you cannot win a game playing the way we are. Look at the Blues in past seasons, pepper in the net with over 40 shots and getting 1 goal, cause all of the shots were from the point with little or no net presence. By numbers alone we should have won the majority of those games because we were outshooting people by almost double most games. Yeah we have controlled the puck to an extent. Bad positioning by the defense and not being able to give or receive passes is troubling. I never thought the Sharks had good team defense but they are stonewalling the Blues.

Game 1 Jones should have had Lehtera's shot

Blues remind me a lot of the Wild. Talent all around, play great in stretches and then forget to show up when it counts. I honestly believe it's bad mojo. Wrong combo of player pysches or something. Doesn't make sense that a team like the
Blues can kick ass for so many games and then look so mediocre for handfuls at a time and especially in the big games. JMO, so don't rip my head off.

It happens it is true. But tonight they have been dominant but then no good shot choices.

not stats in that way man. just I think it is impossible that there has only been one penalty on the Sharks this game.

Hard to believe they could get shutout so few times in the regular.season and now ..3 times in the post season.

Maybe not a blues fan by nature as you know, but this is depressing man!

I mentioned one sequence where Marleau checked a player that never touched the puck. That is interference.

There was a sequence before that Stastny gets crossed check past the acceptable limit in front of the net. Then Fabbri comes in for the puck and Polak had his stick hooking him a ridiculous amount.
