Injuries, schedule etc all play into this. Plus we don't know who his winger will be next season. He did a pretty good job with mcginn, gionta and co. And he was near ppg pace when they paired him with reinhart for the remainder of the season. Not a stretch to think he could at the very least challenge.

and of course its the easy play to say he wont be among the top few players in the world or better than the greatest players of the last decade. cause of course the odds are hugely against that. but just the fact that its absolutely not out of the realm of possibility says a ton about how good he is

also, a healthy malkin in his prime is easily among the top players in the world.
so not only is your comparison strange, but your characterization of malkin as a secondary star to draw a parallel is way off too

Evidence? Come on huge. I've known you for a long time and we can both agree that it's all subjective. I belive that those players will be be top notch ad well as Eichel. I wouldn't be surprised to see McDavid, Crosby and Laine top the scoring charts for the next five years.

but in my view, hes been slightly marginalized only because of the leagues new toy in connor and the "next" hot sh1t in Matthews and laine.

I think eichel's gonna be among the truly elite of the game in the not too distant future. hes just got the It factor, what that is I'm not totally sure. but hes just so effin good.

ill admit I think connor has a slight edge, but I'm not sure any other young players do. including Matthews or laine (who both look amazing as well)
