I didn't say I'd want to do it. I just said it might get you close to moving up to 4. Proposals on here including Foligno and other garbage thrown-ins gets you a dial tone.
I'd rather just grab Juolevi at 8. - CaptainRivet
I had only added Folgino as possible trade bait for #4 because of the recent articles claiming Edmonton's interest in him. If they wanted to do Pysyk, Foligno,#8, and maybe even one of our many 3rds, for #4, okay. But I just don't see such a dramatic improvement between Tkachuk and the guys who will be there at #8 to justify a huge overpayment. |

How much of a raise does he really deserve? I don't want to pay Foligno more than 2.5 a season... - bluengold12
my guess is he will get around 3 per
Abdelkader is everything foligno was suppose to be and will never be IMO |

IMO Foligno should max out at 3 million a year and even that's an overpayment |

only jack sniffs first line talent IMO on this roster - homiedclown
60 points in 71 games, leads league in ice time, wins over 500 draws at a 58% clip at the age of 24. He might be be an elite 1st line centre but even if we don't have Jack and run ROR and Reinhart down the middle you're a playoff team. Can't name many 2nd line centres that produce at a 0.85 ppg clip and lead the league in face off percentage. Bergeron/Kopitar/Toews are he only comparables I can think of and id say he's in the same universe as those players. Toews only has one 70+ point season. |

Back read a bit have a few hot takes...
Eichel is either a better or tied to prospect to Matthews so he is therefore a better prospect than Laine. Laine would probably compare to Landeskog coming out. Which is pretty effin' good! Still I wouldn't trade the 2nd overall pick for nothing short of two firsts and a proven top line player. Eichel would've gotten way more than that.
Reinhart being an underwhelming 2nd overall pick? Give me a break... He just finished his first pro season. Another year playing next to Eichel or O'Riley and as long as Murray does what he must and bring in at least one more top six player his numbers should only improve. Let's wait on saying he will be just a good to very good player and a underwhelming second overall pick before he finishes his second pro season... |

25 games w/o a goal
not an elite first line player
he is however a great player |

We all know Eichel will be the 1st line center in a year or two. If O'Riley moves down to 2nd line center he'd be top 5 second line center in the league. If he moves to wing he's more than capable of playing on the 1st line of a playoff Stanley cup team |

Reinhart is gonna be awesome if he continues to reach the heights I believe he's capable of reaching. Kid is a winner at every level. When Reinhart had his 9 game stint with the team last year Kootanay was 2-12-1. Went back there and willed them to the playoffs himself and won a playoff round. Guy has he "it" factor just like ROR. Might not be elite offensively or flashy but it's the guys you win with when the goings get tough. Just as good defensively as he is offensively. I see him having an under the radar type like appreciation his entire career much like a Marleau, Backstrom, Mikko Koivu, or David Krejci. |

Crosby has two goals in his last 23 playoff goals. Failed to mention the 20 assists he had in that 25 game span.... He might not be the one scoring but if he's making plays that get the biscuit in the net who cares. Guy could score 0 goals the entire year but if he puts up 100 assists he's still an 100 point player. |

People over rate "2-way play" as if people that aren't Ryan O'Reilly or Bergeron just lay down and take a nap in the defensive zone.
O'Reilly is really good, but there are a ton a centers that are better.
Backstrom
Crosby
Getzlaf
Bergeron
Kopitar
Thornton
Malkin
Datsyuk
Toews
Stamkos
McDavid
Giroux
Seguin
Kuznetsov
Johansen
He's in the low end 1, good 2 category. Which is fine. |

Agreed. He want's a raise from his 2.25 a year contract. I would say, you want a raise? Okay fine 2.75 a year. Take it or leave it. |

He's a 2nd overall pick. Not a 10th or 15th. 1st forward drafted in his class.
I think he's already pretty good. But most of the forwards taken 1st in their class end up great. Not sure I see it with Reinhart. Look at what most of the 1st forwards taken over the last 10 years do when they are even just 18.

you guys have been questioning that skunk since the draft
 - homiedclown
No one is questioning him. Everyone was/is high on him, it was just that no one agreed with you that he would score 50 points last year, which he didn't. For some reason people thinking he wouldn't score 50 points made you come up with the skunk nickname and saying everyone except you thinks he sucks, which was never the case.

Is the value of a goalie finally put to rest? Before this round there were a few guys saying that we should go after Fleury. You could put all of these guys in a hat and there really is litttle to no difference. Fleury is good enough, and so are the other three guys in the series. No reason to pay a goalie not named Price 6 mill a year (or even 5, for that matter). |

To be honest I don't think I'd give him more than 2 mil, and even that is very generous. I like the guy but he hasn't proven himself consistently as a 3rd line player. You can find better 3rd/4th line guys for cheaper. Erik Condra (1.25), Patrick Eaves (1.15), etc |

Crosby and Backstrom are very good defensively. And have more success offensively.
One of the reasons why O'Reilly had a career year points per game wise was because of the ice time he played. When Reinhart and Eichel step up, ice time will go down.
Again, O'Reilly is really, really good. Just not a top tier 1st liner |

I agree with not paying over 5M+ on a goalie but Murray and Vasileski (sp) may be top 5 goalies in the league in couple years. Vasileski was drafted 20th overall to be the guy, and Murray has been very good at the age of 21. |

Foligno reminds me of the 2009-2012 teams where we were always banking on the potential of what our team could be if everything went right, and it never went right. |
