He's a 2nd overall pick. Not a 10th or 15th. 1st forward drafted in his class.
I think he's already pretty good. But most of the forwards taken 1st in their class end up great. Not sure I see it with Reinhart. Look at what most of the 1st forwards taken over the last 10 years do when they are even just 18. - sbroads24
Right now, two years after the draft he's probably the third best forward in his draft Larkin and Draisaitl being above him. I think Reinhart will have a better career than Draisaitl though. |

Foligno reminds me of the 2009-2012 teams where we were always banking on the potential of what our team could be if everything went right, and it never went right. - chilliard77
He did step up his game towards the end of the season , as did most of the team. If I remember he had a nagging injury that finally got better. Or...realized his contract was up and I think he is arbitration eligible . |

Which is fine. Just probably a little underwhelming.
Like RNH is a little underwhelming for a 1st pick. He's not a bust like Yak, but he's not a superstar like Tavares or Stamkos etc |

Isn't the raise rate 10% 2.75 would be greater and I would be fine with it 2-3yrs - cabin
Hm... Don't know but makes sense. I assume he'll ask for 3 million and the Sabres will give it to him but I hope I'm wrong. They gave Larsson a 150,000 dollar raise increase which is somewhat significant given his abysmal offensive numbers. |

Edit. General Fanger has Foligno's cap hit at 1.875 4th period says he had a salary of 2.25. Assuming some of that must've been bonuses? |

It's only two years, give him time. We still got the best forward in the draft. |

How much of a raise does he really deserve? I don't want to pay Foligno more than 2.5 a season... - bluengold12
Give him 2.4 for 6. Nice cap control through his prime years. Can contribute either 3 or 4 line. These are the sort of contracts that round out the team. |

I think it's more of a product of the draft... Reinhart and Draistil are about even right now IMO. Larkin would've been a colossal mistake at the time he was drafted if he went 2nd overall. No way Murray could've known his potential. Reinhart went right about where he should've |

Reinhart too, but I have serious questions about how good he will be. I think he's gonna be really good, just underwhelming for a 2nd overall pick - sbroads24
Sam could be better than Jack in the long run......... seriously. |

I think Reinhart is too hard to judge at this age. His strength is his vision and smarts, but he lacked the body and speed needed for the NHL. Look at his 9 games compared to a whole season after working on his strength and skating...Every year that speed and power will only accent his knowledge of the game. I just don't think we can predict how good he can be, because we can't predict what will happen in the next few years. Will something happen to hinder his development? (injuries, offseason surgeries, etc) In my opinion, if something like this were to happen, it would be the only reason why Reinhart would only amount to just a good player. |

Rumor no one will believe. My source says we plan to offer max contract at 7 years to Stamkos on the first possible day.
Personally I don't like it. - Buffalo--Sabres
I was told it will be close to 10 if not 10 a year, you won't get him to look at the Sabres for 8 a year. He makes 7.5 now. |

For a while I really was questioning the pick, but he played really good down the stretch. I don't think we made a mistake with him. Just wish he was a little more dynamic for a top forward |

eichel (Kane) and Reinhart (Toews) can be the Eastern conference Chicago Blackhawks in a couple of years if they both max out on their supposed potential |

Just sit back and watch the show. Sabres haven't had players with the talent of a Reinahrt or Eichel since #16 and mogilny. |

Eichel will always be the more elite offensive player points wise much like a Patrick Kane, but Reinhart will have more of an impact on whether or not the team wins or loses on a given night with his leadership/ two way ability much like a Toews. |
