No poop. Draft picks are like New cars. Worth X amount u til their driven off the lot and then they lose half their value.

We were talking about Darnel Nurse the other day and someone said he wasn't a 1st rounder.

He was a first rounder what, 3 drafts ago? Since then he's gotten bigger, stronger, faster, experience another 2 years of junior, was MVP of the Gold medal game in the WJHC,AHL playoff experience and has 1 ,albeit tough, year of NHL experience , lost zero potential yet is a diminished asset?

I liken draft picks more to lottery tickets. If you hit, you generally hit big. So that skews the data because everyone thinks they'll win the lottery. Or if they just put $50 more into the slot machine it'll pay off, it's totally due.

Honestly i think both teams will overpay for a top 4 defenseman and then hope they find another gear. Maybe the expansion boogeyman helps shake somebody loose. Edmonton is pretty hard up for rhd, what do oil fans have to say about the top 4 d in the draft being lefties?
