If there's a given, perhaps it's that the Big Three of Matthews, Laine and Puljujarvi are highly likely to go one-two-three on draft day.

TSN's consensus shows the next prospect "layer" to include the three wingers – Tkachuk, Dubois and Nylander......by no means out of the question that any one of a cache of five or six defencemen could supplant one (or more?) of the wingers in the four-to-six range

next layer of forwards – starting with Keller at 10, Jost at 11, Brown at 13 and McLeod at 15 – are all viable Top 10 candidates who could also push some of the defencemen further down the list.

What this tells me is that picks 4-10 are viewed as almost equally as talented and will likely come down to personal preference and need, because you've got, probably, 6-8 players who can all be BPA.

I don't see what's so bad about Bogo living on the 2nd line at under 5.5.

Edmonton keeps #4 and trades us Reinhart and Yak for Pysyk and #8, and a whole lot of Risto + for their garbage.

Only 3 of those 7 are forwards though. If the goal by management is to get Eichel's winger, then staying at 8 is risky.

Bogo getting moved isn't the issue.

I guess I'd rather it be Bogo and #8 for #4 and something else.

He had Lawson Crouse ranked top 5 last year over Marner and strome. Hes not always right

If we use this past year as an example, he played at a 2nd pairing level for maybe 30 games, and that's being generous.

That's a whole different argument. I can side with the notion that Eichel needs a real winger. That's easy. But it's widely opined that past #3, these guys are at least a year out of the league. Do the Sabres wait a year on a forward or a defenseman (probably 2 yr)

No he's not. But there's huge variation in rankings and mock drafts from players in the 4-10/13 range. I mean you're not looking at Eichel or Strome here. It's Strome, Marner, Crouse, Hanifin, Provorov....

Crouse may take a little longer than the others, but he's definitely a solid player worthy of being in the top half of the 1st round.
