He said that he "had never once seen anyone claim that Eichel was a better prospect than Matthews". The concept was crazy to him.

I don't think that Eichel is generational and there is nothing wrong with that. It is a way overused term.

But some fan base thinks Matthews is generational.

Stash put up that comparison of first year players, a couple of blogs back. There were six players.

Eichel, Travares, Duchene, Benn, Stamkos, and I can't remember the last. All had great first years, but none generational.

My interpretation of that term would depend on the era in which they played. In this era, I guess over a point per game would define that. McDavid was the only one who achieved it.

But in my opinion I think he's a generation talent I said he will be the best American player ever I truly believe it's going to be McDavid vs jack for the scoring title starting the next two years and continue on
