It's funny how high you guys still value Nuge. I'm sure that will change once you finally get rid of him. |

Losing Gulutzen would be a big loss for the team. Best guy on the entire coaching staff.
Mike Yeo might be a good choice to run our Defense....his teams are the stingiest in GOA. |

Mark Stone was asked on TSN 1200 (Ottawa Radio) if there was one player that stood out as somebody who was a lot better than they realized. He said the guys out west that he doesn't see that much but if he had to pick one it would be Tanev for how defensively skilled and reliable he was. |

After hearing the comments on Tanev from his teammates, he's worth more than Nuge. McCann was a first round pick and IS an NHL player. Adding a 3rd plus the difference in Tanev and Nuge equals a first.
Proposal wasn't that far fetched. Obviously I was joking by writing it, but it's not as far off as you make it seem. |

Can I play devil's advocate since Vantel ain't here?
Glad to hear Tanev getting the props he deserves. He played really well in the gold metal game. Saying that, does the type of game played at these international tournaments translate well into the type of game played during NHL playoffs?
A lot of differences in the two games even down to physicality of players and how the refs call penalties.
Considering that, expectations for Tanev next season need to be tempered a bit. I say level 6 on the hammer-jerk scale would be appropriate. - bloatedmosquito
Fantastic question and I would say no. Playing Finland in a gold medal game would not be like the grind of 4- 7 game series vs CHI STL SJ ANA or LA in the west. Could Tanev handle 4 rounds of grueling playoffs getting hammered into the boards each and every night? As good as he was in the Worlds I would lean towards no...
I like Tanev a lot and defensively responsible he is for the most part. But back to the cup final for us with Tanev in the lineup?
Not likely. |

What?
There are many reasons we won't be seeing the finals in a long time, Tanev isn't one of them.
There are many, many players that have won the cup without being physical. There's this misconception you need 20 brutes to have playoff success. |

So it wasn't a serious proposal? Make up your (frank)ing mind already.
But yeah those comments from Tanev's teammates just put his value through the roof in the eyes of GMs around the league. Probably doubled it at least!
That's not a full-blown homer perspective if I've ever seen one...
Hey wait, are you a closet Hawks fan, because it sounds like JJ's made his mark on you. |

JJ and I haven't gotten along for a really long time. I made fun of his weight and it seemed to set him off.
Did you not read the thread up until my trade proposal?
I was serious though, it could happen any day. I think Chia and Like are just waiting for the playoffs to end to swing it. |

Thanks for trolling. - A_SteamingLombardi
Oh yes I'm the troll.
Just like McCann and a 3rd rounder get you the 4th overall pick...
This place needs a little bit more outside influence if you guys have gone off the rails so far to believe that is in any sense an intelligent remark.
It's like you guys just shut down outside thoughts in this thread so much because you'd prefer to dwell in a delusional state of extreme bias and homerism that makes everyone comfortable with the outlook of the Nucks. Like a little safe space to shield you all from reality and critical thinking.
That's why I brought up JJ's thread, because it is a cesspool of this same poop. |

Very true. Taney is the bottom 4 with seabrook and keith as your top 2 would work out just fine. In the bottom 4 of a cup contending team Tanev works perfectly. Tanev in your top two
IMO, he will be a perfect compliment for this young, rebuilding team. |

I don't see how the lead up to your proposal was relevant but maybe I'm missing something.
Who knows what Chia will do, but that trade proposal was made with some serious Canucks blinders on. |

Yes, unless he evolves into something we haven't seen yet a team won't win with him top pairing. However, even when we were good that 6th dman was always questionable. |

Was born there, but haven't lived there in a long time. Kinda in between dumb statements to post as my location. Keith hasn't slashed anyone in the face in a while and then pens fans haven't been on the "game is rigged against us" train lately either. |
