A couple of things.
I don't think our draft pick will make our lineup, and if he does that speaks volumes of our lineup.
Also, although I think we will play 7 Dmen this season regularly I think Tryamkin will slot in over Larsen, and Sbisa. - golfingsince
Larsen plays over Tree IMO because he's a puck moving dman who can work the PP and he's a right shot. could be wrong but just my take.
And likely Rodin plays over our draft pick, I just couldn't resist.... |

@FriedgeHNIC
It will be McCann, a second and a fourth for Gudbranson and a fifth. All picks this year
HOLY (frank)....Benning is a (frank)in idiot, I don't know how much more of him and his trades I can take. I understand what he's trying to accomplish, but (frank) (frank) me, stop overpaying for good in a scrum kinda guy. It's ludicrous.
You can bet your ass he's going hard after UFA's because either him or ownership has zero plans to build slowly through the draft.
I'm disappointed! - LeftCoaster

How does a guy with no offense score 21 goals? - golfingsince
David booth scored 30 one time. Bonino makes players around him better. Sutters numbers over the last 3 years are not as good as boninos and one player makes half of the other. |

I think he is following ownerships lead which sucks because we dont have a very good prospect pool as is. It now gets worse. Would have liked to just sign a UFA rather than give up 1st, 2nd and 4th for a guy who might command a massive contract.

Bonnie's best year he played with Perry and Getzlaf.....Sutter is a 3rd liner - always has and always will but he's a great penalty killer and wins face offs......guess what Bonino doesn't do.... |

We probably have the worst defensive prospect pool in the NHL by far.
That 2nd or 33rd overall could have got us a blue chip d-man.

(frank) the contracts......they are a nonissue given Vancouvers cap space. Bonino does not give the Canucks more of anything than Sutter and Sutter wins face offs and is an excellent penalty killer..... |

Trade is potential for potential, if Gudbranson can be a top pairing guy or even a really good top 4 it's probably worth it. He isn't there yet though.
Everything thing this group does points to short cuts, risky but will be fun if it turns out. I am glad we got Gudbranson, which is more I've said about most of Bennings trades. |

Gudbrandson is a 3 Rd overall draft pick RHD 6'5 24 years old. Do you think you might be setting your expectations a little high?
It would take 4 years for whomever you drafted this year to develop properly. |

It's just idiotic...Gudbranson is a nice 5/6 guy who's good at shot suppression and hitting, essentially Sbisa or a slight step above. Sbisa had 8 points in 41 games, Gudbranson had 9 in 62 games.
He just gave up a really talented first round pick center and another really high second round pick for that....he's a (frank)in idiot.
Edit: it's not that I don't like the idea of having Gudbranson, I really do, but the price Benning paid is completely ridiculous. |

21 goals, is 21 goals. Not exactly zero offence. |

My thoughts exactly. Then when you factor in that Dman plus the Vey(McKewon) and Sven(Andersson) trades you are looking at 3 Dmen that would be our best d prospects all gone. |

Big risks considering something like only 20% of 2nd rounders play 100 games or take the sure top 4 dman in Gudbranson.....
Some of you guys just don't get it. It's not like he traded a 2nd for Dan (frank)ing Boyle.... |
