Yeah me to, alot better then 16th overall who turned out to be Baral and a second for Griffin Reinhart. Gotta give to get, happens in all top 4 Dman trades - phyllee
Makes you wonder why Florida would trade him. Analytics guys are saying he's awful, slow and possession numbers suck.
I just don't like benning tossing away picks when he's supposed to be this amazing scout. |

I like the trade...At 1st I wondered if it was a slight bit rich but when you look what hamilton trade took and a few others you realize JB did rather well. And for a guy that led in playoff minutes too. - SMBDragon
Dougie is a 22 year old who is a .50 ppg player. Gudbranson is a 25 year old and a .18 player. Gudbranson was 98th in TOI this season. 204 in ppg average. The only player that played more minutes and got less points was Jonas Brodin. Tanev who hired a shooting coach got more points then him. |

I have to admit I don't understand you wanting Lucic but disappointed when we pick up EG.
You also wanted to trade the 5 th to pick up two picks and use one for the D. This trade here we get a better Dman than what we would have traded for and keep the 5 th which will probably give us our best forward. - VANTEL
Again, I'm not unhappy we get Gudbranson, I hate the continual overpayment to get players. Two different things. |

I still expect one more big trade still this summer. It will be with a team cap stretched. |

I keep Pedan and hope he clears waivers. One more year in utica might do him good. I like having a tough guy that can play. |

If I am JB now I do what I can do deal Sbisa, as between Gudbranson and Tryamkin he is irrelevant. I think also resign Hamhuis if I can get him for cheap, have him with larsen on the last pairing. The Defense would be leaps and bounds better than last season. - mauryballstein
This is what I was thinking also.. If we can unload Sbisa for a pick and you sign hamhuis to Sbisa money or less... Im also really hoping we trade Hansen before the draft... Get some of those picks back and people won't be crying.... If you can dump Hansen and Sbisa for picks and sign a brouwer or whoever for free that would be some great asset management |

Only problem is, there is still no depth if you move both of them.
Juolevi would look pretty sweet in addition to this team. |

It would be funny if Kassian was still here.
Kassian absolutely Murdered Gubranson with a brutal hit while they were playing for Team Canada |

Let the Emo's have their day man. They all want their cake and eat it too.
This is the kind of deal that addresses needs and helps the youth movement. (frank) draft picks. They are basically a crapshoot outside of top 10 anyway... - chompsey

The funny thing is I said last year a proposal of Hansen MCCann and a second and got roasted by quite a few saying it was not enough. Now it's too much. |

Wow haters are going to hate. Know I'm far from alone in loving this trade. McCann was expendable given our depth up the middle and is at best a 2c, 2nd pick would have been a d-man and we still have a very high 3rd. JB is my hero! We actually have a top4 now. I did a couple jump kicks when I saw this, so stoked. |

I think it will be tryamkin as I dont think he would go to utica and would go back to the khl |

I'm pretty sure Tryamkin will crack the bottom pairing. Larsen is the guy you all pencil in that will have a harder time making it IMO. |

The (frank) just happened? I don't really care about the trade, and haven't said much other than reminded people that we were told McCann was better than any Leaf prospect we could name. (Quality banter by the way.) But in what universe is Brandon Sutter a 1C? Gudbranson maybe, I guess we'll see. Doubt it though. - BetterCallSaul
Fair comment. Sutter is a 3 ideally, Bo a 2 and we need a replacement for hank still. Defensive d-man and very physical all we need now is one that scores |

Maybe. He has as good a chance of clearing waivers as anyone. If they didn't want to use him on the patchwork D the Canucks iced last season, what would next season's have to look like for him to get more? |

@FriedgeHNIC
It will be McCann, a second and a fourth for Gudbranson and a fifth. All picks this year
HOLY (frank)....Benning is a (frank)in idiot, I don't know how much more of him and his trades I can take. I understand what he's trying to accomplish, but (frank) (frank) me, stop overpaying for good in a scrum kinda guy. It's ludicrous.
You can bet your ass he's going hard after UFA's because either him or ownership has zero plans to build slowly through the draft.
I'm disappointed! - LeftCoaster

Does Gudbanson in and Hamhuis out make the D better next season? It makes them bigger and younger and tougher, but I'm no sure it makes them better. |

It makes them tougher and bigger, harder to play against. |
