when they come up to you on the street while you are walking around in a habs or nux sweater and they try and tell you that you should be cheering for the leafs, then you'll know how f*d up they truly are.
or when you're at work and four or five of them come up to you like a gang and ask you if you'll start cheering for the leafs, now that you live in toronto and you say 'no', and they stop inviting you to lunch, then you'll know how messed up they truly are.
no bs. it's actually happened to me while in toronto. - kaptaan
Stay strong man. It's a jungle out there. Just wondering though if there might be other reasons why you're not getting invited to lunch a lot. Do you tend to talk about pedophelia while eating? |

that and the fact the seahawks actually have salespeople who sell into the vancity region for season's tickets and bring seahawks to promotional events there... so yeah, the team knows vancity and area is part of their fanbase... - kaptaan
I used to live in the SEA area and the last fans I would think about would be bandwagon vancouverites. Seahawks have more dedicated fans I've met at games in Oregon and Idaho than vancity. |

uh, our regional NFL team won the superbowl a couple seasons back. so i think we're good on that front. if you don't think the seahawks are a vancity area team, then you haven't been to any sports stores or even the airport where seahawks merch is sold... - kaptaan
uh, ok. |

on second reading, i would change the word 'joke' to 'sad organization'... and 'laughing stock' to 'sad sack' - kaptaan
Name ONE move the Leafs made last season or off-season that was not entirely justifiable.
Then, when you fail at that, consider that they finished with more points this past season than the one before.
Then, when you still don't get it, remember that they went out got the best available coach they could.
Then, finally, come back and talk to me about deliberate tank jobs.
Oh, and before you get clever and bring up trading Kessel or Phaneuf, remember point 2 above, AND remember how those two were regularly criticized for both their play and their contracts before we traded them. |

“What I think is unique about Seahawks fans, no matter what side of the border they live on, is the concept of the 12th Man and how emotionally invested people are in it,” said Omar Mawjee, the managing director for the Seahawks Regional Marketing Office in Canada.
But Vancouver-area residents’ love affair with the Seahawks began long before this year’s Super Bowl run. Mawjee estimated that about 10 percent of the fans that had attended Seahawks home games the past five seasons had come from Canada, mostly from Vancouver."

Wow.
... Considering your posts this morning, I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that there might have been other reasons why they stopped inviting you to lunch.

So because you think your "regional NFL team" won a superbowl, the Vancouver area has a championship team?

From the US consulate in Vancity...
"Vancouver will be raising the Seattle Seahawks flag at City Hall’s north lawn, along with flags flying at various other Vancouver spots. Additionally, the city of Victoria also raised the 12th man flag in the Inner Harbour, in close proximity to the B.C. Legislature.
Given Seattle’s close proximity to Vancouver and the Pacific Northwest culture that both cities share, the Seahawks have historically enjoyed a strong Canadian fan base immediately north of the border. In 2014, there were about 7,000 season ticket holders from Metro Vancouver, which is more than 10 percent of the total number of 63,000 Seahawks season ticket holders.
The 12th Man symbolizes the team’s fans and Seahawk fans refer to themselves as 12s. In Canada the fan base in called 12 North."

Yeah , but I do think we go after it. Tryamkin is a huge wildcard. High risk high reward or bust. |

I think Vancity is set then. Don't need to worry about the Canucks cause at some point if not already
the BC curling team, Vancouver Giants or Portland little league team will win championships |

(instead of trading McCann we'd need to move our first (5OA) and a 2nd for Drouin, Tanev straight up for Yak)
Then with Yak and Drouin we have lines of
Sedin Sedin Sutter
Drouin Bo Yak
Baertschi Vey Hansen
Gaunce Granlund Etem
Dorsett
Edler Gudbranson
Hutton Hamhuis/ ufa
Tryamkin Bartkowski
Sbisa - kaptaan
You keep saying Tanev for Yak. Are you serious ? That's is a horrible trade for Van |
|

Again, I'm not unhappy we get Gudbranson, I hate the continual overpayment to get players. Two different things. - LeftCoaster
I totally get what you're saying. I don't like the overpayments either but the flip side is he is getting the players he targeted. Guddy was the imo the mvp for the panthers in the playoffs. When he got hurt and left the ice the the analyst douches were all over it saying he was their best player. I don't like the 2nd but whatever he got us a solid young defence man. I think there is more to come. |

Every time they make a trade he loses it. Remember Etem for Jensen? he will calm down like most. It's tough losing young players you grow attached to but it's a good hockey trade |
