Over the five years I've been on these boards I've had lengthy conversations with both of you and I just came to this realization about four months ago.
What a (frank)ing revelation. |

This is my 3rd account.
I never lost any of them, just had to stop using my original for reasons at the time. I had another one but can't remember the password.
It has changed a bunch.
There are a bunch of quality posters that simply have disappeared.......probably because of days like today. |

Agree.
I find Backes has the same temperament. Good players but really easy to throw off their game with a little bit of prodding.
One of the reasons I give the twins so much respect was they rarely ever rattled or fell for the tricks the rats of the league employ. As Lucic’s skills diminish he gets more and more unpredictable. I would rather have Marchand. And that’s not saying much because I can’t stand Marchand. - bloatedmosquito
I posted this exact same thing a couple of weeks ago...Marchand grew on me watching the IIHL tournament.

I got to admit sometimes I wonder why I agreed to take on this gig (like today), I remember the reason and it was sensnucksnocups having free reign here because Micah555 took on a new job or something and wasn't around as much as was needed at the time. But sometimes I just want to go back to calling out asinine posters instead of being the responsible one... |

I remember those days.
Even when you weren't a ref you were pretty responsible.
I bet you'd love to be able to tell people how you really feel sometimes though. |

There's some that just can't be ignored, especially when a bunch of guys flag the same poster...and as the ref that's my advice to you guys..ignore and don't feed the trolls. |

Plus Eddie Lack.
Benning has moved lots of pieces for lots of other pieces. While I'm ok with the idea of upgrading, or even taking a stab in the dark once in a while (Etem) I think the problem with most of his deals is that we've yet to see a clear case where the quantity of assets given up brings back a correlating and obvious improvement in quality.
This McCann trade and the Bonino trade see Benning giving up more pieces for a player that is not well known in this market, and not seen as an immediate improvement in talent over what we've already got. Is Gudbranson that much better than what Tryamkin will be in 1-2 years? Is Sutter that much of an upgrade over Bonino? Too much uncertainty for the fans to get on board, so the price paid seems excessive relative to what we're getting back.
Throwing in the 33rd overall pick in this year's draft for a player that won't adequately address the team's desperate need for offense from the blueline, is arguably overpaid and will soon be expendable to his current team, doesn't look like fair market value. |

Sort of. Our defense was horrible last season, not just offensively but defensively. With Tanev and Gudbranson now solidifying a defensive aspect for the team. Edler and Hutton can focus a bit more on being offensive. I could see Edler + Hutton combining for 70-80 pts next season. |

As I stated earlier I think lucic is a hothead, I lost whatever respect I had for the meathead when he threatened a Montreal player during the handshake after Boston were eliminated in the playoffs a few years ago.
Also when LA needed him most to make the playoffs he's running around on a personal vendetta and putting his team shorthanded...people think the refs hate Vancouver now...just wait until meathead is signed. - Makita
I would hope that as Lucic gets older and with a great coach (WD) that he could help him and the Sedins as mentors. Almost a perfect fit! lol.
I don't condon anything he has ever done in the past. I'm also not saying go out and sign him no matter what. I just don't like closed doors. |

While Small Marner is the best player in Junior hockey and one of the best prospects in the world.. not worried about him. Nylander should be an alright 2nd line center. - ClarksonDavid
you should be. I have been watching him in the Mem.Cup. practices here he has work ethic issues. |

I always wondered how much stock is put into that. It is a big problem when teams look prospects. Is it more about attitude as an 18 year old. |

One thing i'd really really like to see the canucks do is split up the sedins a bunch. May be just me but i thought last year when Henrik got injuired and McCann and Vey were playing first line that it was good. I'm not sure what the record was with Henrik missing. I'm not talking about weeks of playing apart but a period here or there. Even split them on different PP's. |
