Drury was never elite that's where I would rank Ryan O'Reilly
A elite two way center Bergeron, kopitar, toews
Jordan staal was definitely elite 3rd line center with Pittsburgh no doubt about it
if you're looking for a underrated 2 way center that we could possibly have for our 3rd line Nielsen - GERBE!!!75PTS
So was Derek Roy elite? |

Elite in my mind is all star level. Perenial 25 goal scoring 60 plus points defensive stall-worth and great leader. O'Riley envisions all those things IMO in the future of today's nhl - bluengold12

If Stall was elite for Pittsburgh as a third line center, Roy was Hall of Fame for the Sabres. |

I was really never a Roy fan, but he was top 20 in the league in scoring 1 or possibly 2 years. |

You don't think staal was a elite third line center he was arguably the best at that time |

The old way of the Sabres Ott would be brought back here on a 2 year 4 million dollar deal to bring a veteran presence and grit to the team and hope that people buy tickets to see the old fan favorite.. |

It's just the truth. He's not franchise player. He's definitely not a max player.
Good luck in the finals. Rooting for you guys!! |

Was Roy elite? That is a strong word.
Much like generational.
Edit: they were both great third line centers that contributed to their team's success. Because they had better players playing more important roles above them. |

I have no clue where i would rank him it was also managements fault they basically put all their trust in this group and it just ended up failing miserably |

I edited my post.
Both were great for what they were asked to do with superior players above them.
Stall my have been a better shutdown player, but Roy put up a lot more points. |

Eichel will be elite, O'Reilly is not - sbroads24
ROR is already elite. He's the exact same player as Bergeron and Toews. If Toews and Bergeron are elite so is ROR. And don't bring up the Cup thing either because with the cast of players the Hawks and Bruins had ROR would've won the cup as well. |

Jordan Staal was one of the best 3rd line centres in recent memory. Throwing Roy into the conversation is just petty. |
