The curious part of the entire drama is the huge monetary advantage that Tampa holds. First, there is no state income tax paid on earnings. Second, only Tampa can offer an 8 year deal. All other teams are limited to 7 years. if for example, several teams, including the Bolts, offered him $10m per year. The bolts offer is $10m. more on the gross because of the 8 years. And the savings on State tax comes in around another $9.6m over the life of the deal. I just don't believe his agent has any intention of his leaving nearly $20m on the table to sign somewhere else.
