The fancystats is a curious topic for sure. At some point and statistically speaking, statistic and analytic will probably win this battle. The question is, are we in that time now? or is it when the number cruncher stumble on a better way to analyse the data?

Jim may be going against the grain here and it seems like that is the popular vote on this. This off season will be key on whether he is done as a GM or not. They miss the playoffs and the Benning days will be in the books as a failed hiring. If not, he may prove that there is still work to do on the analytic side of the game.

I think Yandle will be getting more then 6 mill at 4 years in free agency. I think the only way he gets signed is Edler gets traded. Benning basically has the though in his head Hutton will be with Gudbranson, planning differently is a reach.

That's why Biega was given his contact, it was to reward him for his work in Utica with the young guys and make it that he won't be claimed having a one way contract. Yeah I don't think Pedan is safe, hopefully they move him to get something before exposing him.

For everyone that wanted a complete teardown rebuild, SJ was able to do a rebuild on the fly and it seems to working out for them. It's not easy, but is possible.

We have tried the Detroit model, the Boston model, the Chicgao model. Now it's time for the SJ model .
