First post since the trade. I just wanted to tell you guys that I am not a canucks fan anymore. Had some good times here, thanks for everything

Just joking you pussies. We got a good D man. All we need is one more offensive Dman and we got a sick D core.

I wouldn't think trading a couple of 2nd round picks would put lefty over the edge, but I also didn't think Nucker would become Phucker.
- A_SteamingLombardi

I'm not over the edge, I'd just like for them to build through the draft more...that's all.

Gudbranson is gonna be a great addition! I'm just thinking down the road if the Sedins retire in two years, Benning needs a lot to go right if he doesn't want a horrific fall off a cliff.

Just something to discuss, nothing more.

Mason Raymond and his career is almost over.

So 11 years ago we had success drafting a second rounder. I can see by our success at selecting second round draft picks why everyone is so upset about losing this years

You're picking on the Canucks draft history, essentially your beating up a handicap kid...stop it

Don't look at the Canucks draft history, look at history's of teams that can actually draft.

Yes exactly...except using those picks to draft prospects not trade them for Vey and Sutter. It's easier to say now though because I'm using hindsight, I get what he was trying to do, it just isn't working.
- LeftCoaster

I still think it's too early to say this isnt working. Rock bottom this year for sure. No where to go but up.

Canucks 2nd round picks

2002 Kirill Koltsov, Denis Grot
2003 Marc-Andre Bernier
2005 Mason Raymond
2007 Taylor Ellington
2008 Yann Sauve
2009 Anton Rodin
2012 Alexandre Mallet
2014 Thatcher Demko

With that history, getting a player like Sutter and Gudbranson for throwing in a 2nd seems worth it to me.

I don't know.
Kesler plus two seconds,a third and a fourth

For

Sutter, Gudbranson, Sbisa , a third and a fifth sound like a good deal to me.

- Pres.cup

Pretty sure it was
Kesler, Two 2nds, Bonino, Clendenning, Forsling for

Sutter, Gudbranson, Sbisa

(frank) me you just said two pages ago we essentially drafted Baertschi with our second round pick, now you say we didn't because it doesn't fit your narrative?

Losers draft. Teams like Hawks Kings trade top picks .

I am using Canucks history because we are the Canucks. I could use TOs or Edmontons history is that better?

When you finish third last because two guys got hurt, your not in a very good position.

That said, I do believe Benning has instructions from ownership to compete now or else!!

2 guys? It was a lot more than that. I don't ever remember more new faces and call ups ever.

I think this trade was just to side track us from the real issue of what to do about Higgins and Burrows.

Kings and Hawks trade picks, currently, because they just won five Cups between them!

In the past ten years the Kings have drafted these players in the 2nd & 3rd rounds.

Jonathan Quick
Alec Martinez
Wayne Simmonds
Voynov
Kyle Clifford
Nicolas Deslauriers

Pretty good list of players if you ask me.

With all the injuries and guys taking so long to get back into game shape maybe we should be looking at replacing trainers, physiotherapists. I know I have said this before but Gary Roberts or people in his circle would be a good guys/girls to have for this division of the organization.

Bonino & 54th pick > Sutter.....considering the Canucks are a non playoffs team. That's the way I see it.
- LeftCoaster

Wrong. Sutter + 63. We lost 9 spots in the draft. Whoopty-do.

When Sutter and Edler got hurt the team folded. But yes Henrik was hurting after Christmas too.

Sbisa is not a good player, probably helped having him out and Hamhuis was just awful the first 40 games, did they really miss him?

Didn't we pick up Pittsburgs 3 rd round pick ?

Sutter is better than Bonino period

- VANTEL

We got our 3rd back.
